Question on 2mp 30x Starlight variant

Just curious if anyone had hands-on experience with this variant of 2mp PTZ and had any observations about the firmware and overall camera performance: 2MP 30x IR Starlight PTZ

On paper this seems to fit my needs but figured I'd check before pulling the trigger. Any insights greatly appreciated.
 
It is a great camera, i don't think there will be to many on this site with this particular model. But dahua and Hikvision are good quality cameras.
I am using the dahua PTZ sd49225T-hn and it is a great cameras.

Hi!
wondering what firmware you are using for your 49225T-HN....the most recent firmware i put on seems lame....it's switching to PAL and causing white balance to go screwy...PTZ presets not working..

is there a newer version? of more updated ptz firmware? (there used to be 2 components)
 
I use to own this very camera and if you don't want to use the auto tracking then it's an OK camera but you could get better for less like the 4 series SD49225XA-HNR

I never upgrade my cameras, they do just fine for me. I am using mine as License Plate Reader cam at the moment.
 
it's very odd...after less than 24 hours the PTZ presets I set up are GONE, and the camera has been switched to PAL from NTSC....also current time zone to Beijing, motion detection turned off, record schedule is gone....has anybody else experienced these oddities? that's why I'm wondering if there's a newer firmware for the 49225T-HN ?..
And YES, i have reset to factory defaults repeatedly

I don't forward any ports.....so outside my LAN i use openvpn...has worked great for a long time....I use chrome to do setup...I can try IE as I'm willing to try anything at this point....it saves all my configs and then less than 24 hrs it's all gone....

I have been running mine I am on firefox, but it has been going for 6 months no problems, no software updates. Good luck
