Does the 4.0 firmware mark the IVS event in the NVR timeline when searching like it does in previous FW editions ?? I just set one up and it does not seem to show up in the timeline. It is selected in the search options. The AI search shows the IVS event clips but no IVS line where the event...- jmcu

The area "size" is used for a reference point, but don't put to much thought into it because it is not exact... As far as 12 to 800' , pick your optimum point of interest and draw your min / max. I set mine about 60' out, nothing is going to auto track at 800' unless you have it zoomed in to a... -

I agree the 4108 is a very good NVR. The SD6AE240V-HNI is my second best camera, it has a awesome image at 2mp and it gives my 4k PTZ a run for it's money, I like it better than the SD6AE830VN-HNI at night. That would be cutting it too close I would think and 26W, 42W (Heater on, IR on) for the 4mp exceeds the NVR per port specs. I have my large camera and another long drop (350') wired for 24v powered with their 5A transformer that comes with the camera with no issues and that's with the heater...- jmcu

@bigredfish , IMO the AI doesn't justify the price point at this time for the average home user. It is really overkill unless you just want the latest cool toy...( and I do ) but I still don't have a AI PTZ. From what I have experienced from the PTZ's for detecting plates is that there is too many variables for the PTZ to get it right without being set up for a dedicated LPR. Anything reflective need to be adjusted manually and if not set up that way there just isn't time for the camera as it is... -

I should of updated my post... I have 1 SD-59430 that works just fine with this firmware and 1 that must of had a bad update. The PTZ controls are wacked out along with the presets. This firmware has baseline 2 that does not allow you to downgrade below 2.800.XXX. There is nothing below...- jmcu

If I were to pick the cams you listed SD6CE230U-HNI, SD59225U-HNI or SD49225T-HN, they would be in that order. I think the build quality of the 6ce is much better than the black face PTZ's. All these cams would be great choices but I would prefer a IP 67 / IK 10. I know you said night... -
