Simple baby camera without mandatory subscriptions, cloud-use or terrible apps.

@TonyR They ordered the Amcrest IP2M-841 from your Ebay link and it was delivered fast within a couple of days. I just came back from their house and installed it for them, for the moment without SD-card. So far it looks great. Tested it through 2.4GHz. wifi and live view seems to work fine...

Great suggestion with your provided link. I did not think this one would be available for this price for us Dutchies. Apart from the lack of 5GHz. support, this looks more interesting than both the Dahua IPC-K35S and Foscam C2M.

Simple baby camera without mandatory subscriptions, cloud-use or terrible apps.

I've been using the Xiaomi Yi Ant camera for some years now. It's the first generation, the 720p one with build-in IR. (looks like this). We first used it with stock firmware but that didn't work that well. The last few years I've been using it with custom firmware which gave it RTSP-stream, no...

Another update. Live view seems to be fine now. Not as much lag anymore or many dropped frames. Also not thousands of logs of the NVR logging in and out anymore. As for backing up the settings; at that time I hadn't thought of that, but it doesn't really matter much, since I only have 1 camera...

An update. First I tried to manually update the camera to the latest firmware (this one). This really screwed up the camera; after trying to update the firmware the information settings still showed the older firmware yet the whole UI was screwed up. I then did a physical hard reset in the...

Thanks. It's quite odd. Yep. No port forwarding or UPnP here. I did set up VPN on my router (TP-Link C7) but after a while it won't connect anymore. And it's not that our ISP changed our IP-adress, it's still the same. That's something I have to look into. And I just blocked the NVR's MAC...

It's shows the NVR's IP-adress. When the NVR logs out, the content only mentions the IP adress, but the login logs shows the content as "Type DVRIP". I also blocked the camera from accessing the internet in our router (I forgot to do that for the NVR)

Me again. I have 2 questions. 1. I recently bought a NVR from Andy (NVR4116HS-4KS2) and record 24/7 on it. I checked the logs of the camera and it shows the NVR logging in and logging out pretty much every minute. Is that normal behaviour or...? 2. For a while now, my 5231 is feeling...

    NVR4104-4KS2 versus NVR4104HS-4KS2

In the end; I ordered the NVR4116HS-4KS2 from Andy and it should arrive tomorrow. Now I only need the get the Purple drive, I think the 2TB version is the sweet spot for price/capacity. (1TB is €52, 2TB is €67, 3TB is €91, 4TB is €113) 2TB should give me about 42 days of 24/7 recording...

That's a whooooole lot of new camera's to figure out. Interested in what the prices are going to be; most likely more expensive than current models. But definitely some interesting models. For example: IPC-HDW5241TM-AS 2MP, fixed focal en IR. | 0.01232Lux/F1.6 (Color,1/30s,30IRE) If price is...

Help me choose between NVR4104HS-P-4KS2 and NVR4104-P-4KS2

I had a similar question a week ago: NVR4104-4KS2 versus NVR4104HS-4KS2 (The same NVR just without the POE-ports on the back). The only difference I could find was the different housing (smaller white, versus bigger black housing) and Dahua moved 1 of the 2 USB ports to the front on the -HS...

    NVR4104-4KS2 versus NVR4104HS-4KS2

Hi guys, These two NVR's seem identical apart from the housing; the -HS version is black and *slightly* bigger and they moved 1 USB2.0 port from the back to the front. Looking at the specs and the recent Q1 catalog from Andy (Dahua IP Catalog 201902 Q1) I can't find any other differences...

Thanks. Apart from the physical (black versus white) housing of the NVR's; are there any more differences between the (old?) NVR4104-4KS2 and the newer NVR4108HS-4KS2?

Hello Andy. If I remember correctly; you mentioned somewhere on this forum something about new Dahua products to come in/around April this year. Do you have any idea about possible new entry-level NVR's? (Let's say a successor or updated version of the NVR4104-4KS2 (and the 4108 and 4116) NVR's?

So this happened again this morning. Exactly the same thing. So I think I'm finally convinced to get a NVR. @EMPIRETECANDY you mentioned somewhere on this forum that we could expect some more new Dahua products in April? Perhaps some new Dahua Lite NVRs? I'm inclined to order a NVR4104-4KS2 (or...

    Black or white outdoor cameras?

This video might be of interest to you: I find the internet doorbell market (I refuse to call them 'smart' doorbells because they aren't) interesting, but so far each and every one of them has drawbacks. They either: - Depend on wifi - Depend on cloud - Depend on battery - Depend on (paid)...

    Black or white outdoor cameras?

I think the only (somewhat affordable) options are the Doorbird S101 (~ €350) and the Doorsafe DS6600. (~€105) They tick all the boxes apart from the 2MP, since they shoot video in 720p. EDIT: wait, I think the Doorsafe doesn't support SIP.
