IPC49225 Possible Solution for loss of track.

Sounds like a solid plan to me!! Maybe get some clear coat and the camera will see right through it! I’m following as I have a lamp post as well that sometimes ends the track. Just haven’t taken the time to play with settings or FOV. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

View all alerts for a specific camera

You have to view the individual camera and then click the calendar in the upper right. It will then show all the alerts and a calendar view. There is not a way to make it much prettier. The three dot menu will then allow you to filter between alerts or clips. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rackmount BI system where to buy

I bought a 2U shelf and stuck it in my rack. Holds my HP Elitedesk just fine! (Actually takes up 3U and leaves some space on the side). Although I have occasionally looked at rack mount chassis so I have more drive space inside. Just haven't found one that screams "buy me" yet. Sent from my...

Man Attempted To Steal From My Trash

Our city has an ordinance against "interfering with a garbage container". It prohibits dumpster diving but I believe was originally created to prevent taking recycling materials that the "owner" left out to have recycled and be paid for. It comes in handy when the scrappers try to take from...

Is there NVR that will work with any ONVIF camera?

^this! I have small $60 UPS units on all kinds of electronics around the house. And a few larger units on my important machines like Blue Iris. The smaller units work just as well but I wanted a larger battery to keep it alive longer during an outage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cameras keep dropping offline and coming back seconds later

Does the switch have any QOS features? Could it be throttling the cameras? Or is there an issue with the computers NIC? For some reason my BI PC kept dropping cameras when I used the built in NIC for them. Swapped so the cameras were on the add on card and all was well. Sent from my iPhone...

Cameras keep dropping offline and coming back seconds later

To clarify... You are running hardwired for your cameras and into the BI box. And wireless is to connect the BI box to the home network (separate from cameras)? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Minibike kids using the neighborhood as a racetrack

Agreed! They usually tool around the streets which I've never really minded. Heck, when I was a kid we build a dirt track in a friends yard and had a blast on our pedal bikes! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Minibike kids using the neighborhood as a racetrack

Kids down the street routinely ride a mini bike down the street, annoying but usually not a problem. Well now they apparently think its acceptable to drive through lawns. Warning - no sound until the last few seconds - check your volume!

    Question regarding updating old equipment.

And to clear up the power connector confusion.. if you were to stick to old school analog cameras with a 12v connector you can replace the plug on your existing wires with these. DAYKIT 10 Pairs 12V Male+Female 2.1x5.5MM DC Power Jack Plug Adapter Connector for CCTV Camera Amazon.com: DAYKIT...

    Home Security Systems

I have the eyezon module on my DSC hardwire system. Self ordered and installed. I don't use a monitoring service and instead rely on the eyezon alerts, which are way faster than a monitoring company. I use Home Assistant which also integrates directly with the eyezon module (not relying on the...

    Fake Paper Plates

And it’s about time! Best part is the new temp plates are in the DVS database nearly immediately and can be queried by the PD just like a regular plate! No more needing the VIN to identify a temp plated vehicle. Crooks used to cut out a chunk of a yellow pages book to stick in the back of their...

Are there IP Cameras (for outdoor) with night vision but not IR LED night vision?

OP seems to be absent... But they do make night vision lenses that can be added to certain cameras. Think night vision goggles but that screw onto your camera in place of its lens. The one I’ve seen was a few years ago and replaced an old analog cameras lens. That accomplishes the “no additional...

    Am I doing this wrong?

I've helped a few friends wire their home cameras. One wanted me to help his brother's business set up cameras. I dropped off the box of Ethernet and suggested camera locations. 2021 New Product From Dahua

I despise thieves! I have my dad's old log splitter... Well the frame of it anyways. He had it chained up years ago and some turds took the time to dismantle the thing. Unbolted and removed the engine and all hydrolics. Just left the trailer frame. Why in the world they didn't just cut the chain...

Review - Dahua SD49225XA-HNR 2MP 25x Starlight + IR PTZ AI Camera with Deep IVS & SMD Plus

Great info! This could be a thread of its own! Have you considered writing a wiki to cover all the different settings, what they do, and what a good starting place is? I’ve looked for explanations for some settings before but haven’t found a one-stop shop for the info. It’s a real possibility I...

    strange connection

Unlikely. You are probably port forwarding so your BI machine is accessible from the internet. They scanned and hit your system. But it doesn’t show a user or anything so they didn’t log in. Likely a bot scanning for open systems. Best to use a VPN and not directly expose your systems to the...
