DS-2CD2387G2-LU 4mm 8MP ColorVu out of focus, black pixels when zoomed in?

Has anyone else got a 4mm version of the newish 8MP ColorVu turret? I just bought one and it seems to have been focused very poorly at the factory- that's testing it inside and not expecting anything really close to be in focus. I also noticed when zooming right in on the NVR playback there...

@EMPIRETECANDY are you selling the Hikvision DS-2CD2387G2-LU yet? (Preferably via AliExpress.)

Attempted firmware upgrade on Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P gone bad.

See if you can find some footage of 4 in action on Youtube before attempting the upgrade. I found the way the time bar has been changed from 3.x really annoying - I usually watch multiple cameras and click on the next relevant "Smart Event" to advance to where I want to watch. I couldn't do that...

Attempted firmware upgrade on Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P gone bad.

Yes, that's the BNC. Attached is Aussie DS-7608NI-I2/8P with BNC output firmware-> version 3.4.93 which appears to be the last of the 3.x firmware.

Attempted firmware upgrade on Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P gone bad.

There are warnings that you can't upgrade from 3.x to 4.x on the retailer's site I bought mine from. He said it was because the hardware is different? However, I managed to get mine working going from 3.x to 4.x and then went back to the last 3.x version (admittedly after I accidentally changed...

Review of the Hikvision OEM model IPC-T2347G-LU 'ColorVu' IP CCTV camera.

Hikvision have a playback program on their website called VSPlayer, that works fine in Windows and you can then avoid installing codec packs that can cause other issues. DOWNLOAD EU PORTAL The front of my place has 3 mains powered PIR motion sensor controlled LED flood lights (they can also be...

Mic options for Turrent and Bullet cameras?

This thread is also about the microphone set up, if you're doing the speaker then it may be the same (and not follow conventional wiring standards) or not.

Attempted firmware upgrade on Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P gone bad.

Keep in mind I bricked mine years ago from installing overseas firmware. When it was unlocked I left the OS firmware on it as it then worked. I then tried updating to new Aussie firmware (2 years later?) and had issues as it had changed region when I first bricked it. So now I'm "stuck" with...

Attempted firmware upgrade on Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P gone bad.

You need to stay with Aussie firmware if it was supplied through Hikvision Australia. Otherwise you'll end up locked out and most likely need to pay to get the unlock file (if you don't have a dealer who can give it to you.) I'm not sure what version Hikvision Australia website has got available...

Review of the Hikvision OEM model IPC-T2347G-LU 'ColorVu' IP CCTV camera.

Most cameras will do a decent job at night at 1/6th. But the video is useless for any motion.

Mic options for Turrent and Bullet cameras?

Have you tried the above? You'll need to buy a 3.5mm stereo plug, using your Y lead as per the video doesn't achieve the same thing.
  13. T

Mic options for Turrent and Bullet cameras?

You need a 3.5mm stereo plug, as mentioned earlier. A mono plug won't work even though hikvision say in their instructions you can use either. That's also quite likely why you found it worked with the plug partially inserted.

@reverend what exposure time was the 2335 footage posted earlier?

Mic options for Turrent and Bullet cameras?

You'll probably need to buy a 3.5mm stereo plug and custom wire it as per my above quote- short the L+R channels together and the tip is the earth. (Or cut up your Y stereo adapter, strip back the cables and wire as mentioned.) If that doesn't work let me know and I'll also check the codec I'm...

Mic options for Turrent and Bullet cameras?

Do you mean the coded audio via the network cable to pass the combined video/ audio signal back to the NVR? Yes, using only the network cable; I've got the same NVR too. Are you using a mono or stereo 3.5mm jack plug? Refer to my earlier posts as one will work and the other won't. Hikvision's...

Review of the Hikvision OEM model IPC-T2347G-LU 'ColorVu' IP CCTV camera.

Yes, the fixed lenses on the 2335 can be less than optimal for sharpness and focus across the FOV. The varifocal version is a lot sharper (and includes a mic input.) The ColorVu does seem like a decent step up.

Review of the Hikvision OEM model IPC-T2347G-LU 'ColorVu' IP CCTV camera.

Thanks for the clips. It looks like you're lucky and have a lot of ambient lighting around to help out- 1/500th at night is amazing. How does it compare to your 5231 or 2335's- is it a big improvement?

Review of the Hikvision OEM model IPC-T2347G-LU 'ColorVu' IP CCTV camera.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on the two, I'm running mostly 2335FWD-I or the varifocal equivalent. All locked in colour with visible LED flood lights on. They're good at 1/25th for still scenes, but I need closer to 1/100th for limiting blur on stills. The YouTube reviews seem to gloss...

NVR ds-7608ni-i2/8p firmware upgrade gone wrong.

A lot later build than mine then. It's probably best I found that out after trying the 4.x firmware, as I mightn't have been game enough to risk it.

NVR ds-7608ni-i2/8p firmware upgrade gone wrong.

It's within the serial number- look for YYYYMMDD layout in it. (You can get the serial number up on the "System" info screen.) I got mine working on the latest version 4.x Euro firmware. I'm just not so keen on the way the playback time line works and doing clips is a PITA. BTW if you ever get...

Attempted firmware upgrade on Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P gone bad.

Fixed (or looks to be at this stage.) I downloaded the last 3.9.x Euro firmware and installed that using the web interface and the update on a USB stick plugged into the laptop. That worked and my password was kept. I then updated to the first 4.x series Euro firmware- that also worked...

Review of the Hikvision OEM model IPC-T2347G-LU 'ColorVu' IP CCTV camera.

I don't have that camera, but I would think they'd need to be on in the dark all the time. They operate like IR light sources on other cameras and enable the camera to see in the dark. It can't detect motion if the light isn't on (it would need some kind of PIR motion detector to do that.)...

    lens help ?

Have you considered paying a little bit more for a varifocal model? You can then adjust it to whatever FOV works best and if you decided to move/ repurpose the camera you're not stuck with the original FOV. I've also found that the varifocal lenses tend to give a clearer picture (better lens...

NVR ds-7608ni-i2/8p firmware upgrade gone wrong.

Danaussie, what's the build date on your 7608NI-I2 and what was your original firmware? Mine is September 2016 build with the BNC connector (apparently that makes a difference to firmware) and I'm wondering if I can get V4.x working?

I was told the same about bricking going from V3xxx to V4xxx by my Aussie seller- because there are hardware differences. Yet, you go to the US site and it says it can be done but a certain procedure has to be followed. (I don't have the link on me.) Mine is currently playing up due to...

    Hikvision DS-9632NI-I8 bitrate issue?

I had similar issues using H264+ on a 7608 NVR. Suffice to say I don't use that feature now, it was too unreliable.
