    Less Bandwidth?

Have an app you recommend? Finding a lot - but nothing that I can find analyzes channel usage around me.

    Less Bandwidth?

My question is - how do I go about optimizing what is now there? I know you can turn the signal strength up, etc - but is there anyway to check if they're overlapping? How much they're overlapping? etc?

    Are mounts really worth it?

There is some situations where mounts are absolutely necessary... there are many situations where they're not. For example: if your wires are going to be hidden in a soffit of a house that sees very little moisture and they're already inside their weatherproof boot and no one is ever going to...

    Less Bandwidth?

Update: Installed Ubiquiti system last night, got it up and running today. So far, I can't find a deadspot in the house. at the very edge of my property line I'm at 160 MBPS outdoors. I haven't been able to connect every device that was previously connected - so, I'll have to hold my...

    Less Bandwidth?

I’ll put it in the hallway then. Just need to go through the top floor closet and down in the ceiling. Then a fair amount of fishing. Hope the joists run opposite of where I need to go.

    Less Bandwidth?

I think the majority of the problem is that it doesn’t have a web based UI. Everything is through this app - so it is limited in functionality.

    Less Bandwidth?

It’d be much easier to put the main floor one in the ceiling of the garage. Keep in mind, we spend the majority of our time on the main floor. Would it make that much of a difference to move it five feet and one wall?
  8. CastleSurveillance

    Less Bandwidth?

Nope. Wish I would’ve done more research on this router before purchase.

    Less Bandwidth?

@bp2008 As far as layouts of the unifi’s, what do you think of this below: 1. Unifi PRO on bottom floor mounted on ceiling in hallway 2. Unifi PRO on top floor mounted on ceiling in hallway 3. Unifi Mesh outdoors tucked under the soffit with the antennas aiming down and out towards the yard.

Currently trying to play call of duty on PS4. No other strains on WiFi - lagging so badly I can’t play. Fast.com reporting 12MB WiFi on my phone. Probably 5 feet from router.

    Less Bandwidth?

All speed tests have been done via speedtest.net or it's app to this point. Using fast.com, my laptop is at 240MBPS wirelessly, while my cell phone is at 140MBPS wirelessly, basically directly next to the laptop. Keep in mind, I am right on top of my router right now.

I have already provided that. Please look back in the thread.

    Less Bandwidth?

Pozzello, that was initially what I thought to be the problem... however, continuing to check this bandwidth even with idmss closed, I am still getting very wild fluctuations in bandwidth, with no real reason why.. idmss closed or open, same issue occurs.

Included w/ the Ubiquiti order is: 2x Ubiquiti Pro's 1x Ubiquiti Mesh 1x Ubiquiti USG 1x Ubiquiti 8 port POE Switch Cable internet is Comcast. Think we're paying for 150MB. I'll try to check on the Roku's later today.

    Less Bandwidth?

oh man, I have so many cam's on this house - they're all different. They're all 4MP, with the exception of one Two-way talk at the front door which is 5MP, and a 2MP auto-tracking PTZ. In regards to Multicast - no, it is not enabled.

    Less Bandwidth?

That's far more than I want to tackle at this time, Especially since I've already decided I'm going with ubiquiti and dumping this router. That, and removing the Roku's aren't really an option for me - I stream my cable through them, and my unfortunately, my smart tv's are unable to do it...

    Less Bandwidth?

Update - nothing’s changed. My WiFi speed was just 195MBPS - now I ran it a couple minutes later and I’m at 5MBPS. What could cause such wild fluctuations in speed? I made sure idmss was not open.
  24. CastleSurveillance

    Less Bandwidth?

This is a meshforce version 3 router. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a web based UI, only an app on my phone. I cannot find an option to drop older devices, however, most of the equipment I have around here is newer. The cell phone that is 169 is peculiar for sure. I think that’s my wife’s...
