medium to higher is all you need. people love to boost that up but its a waste of memory and speed. another thing is fps and bitrate. the human eye can only see at 8-12 fps anything more is a waste. -

Davidm, You are asking this camera to do something it really not meant to do. handle headlights without washout, see through windshield, identify occupant of vehicle. Not going to happen with this model from their value series line. Just not going to happen sorry to be the messenger of bad news. -

you will get a record of saved images of plates but as mentioned it is not going to database "seen" plates. with these cameras detection does not mean recognition. for example the facial detection feature will know when it sees a face but will not recognize previous detected faces. all you get... -

sorry I think VCA only allows 1 camera at a time. I have never had the need to do multiple yet. -

on ivms it has been moved to VCA. you have to go to remote playback, move camera you want to search over to viewing pane and then down near the bottom above the time bar there is a square that says VCA for VCA play back. click on that and it will open options to search with entire screen grid or... -

Can you provide screen shot of nvr settings? dhcp should be off. first step power cycle router and nvr. can you see the nvr and cameras on the network using SADP? have you updated firmware recently? -

turn your iframe interval up. yes in theory lower is better but for a 3mp camera an Iframe setting of 50 should be more than sufficient. Anything lower is truly not going to be noticeable and use allot more bandwith. -

Not familiar with this exact model but in the past I have seen this fixed with firmware updates. I would check with the manufacturer that it was shipped with the latest version. Thanks After adjusting the exposure and DNR I have solved the ghosting issue. No oher settings were adjusted and now one of my cameras will only come up in substream not mainstream? -
