    Miscellaneous Critter Captures

Coyotes pass through my yard at night. Here's clips where a coyote, with emptty mouth, entered my backyard, and 3 minutes later, left with a meal in his mouth. Coyote makes a kill in the backyard - YouTube One cam, aimed at the driveway, is far enough & high enough to not concern coyotes...

    Dahua and choppy video?

my time problem was after daylight savings time. So there was an hour difference, far greater than a 1 to 5 second difference. I couldn't playback anything between midnight and 1am. And also had a problem where the playback jumped backwards between 10 and 30 minutes. This doesn't sound exactly...

    Dahua and choppy video?

PmediciJ, Thanks for the reply. Personally, finding symptoms by reading a paragraph is trickier then using a table of symptoms. Please don't expect us all to read paragraphs, absorb them, and then remember them for upcoming interactions. Especially since this thread has two people with similar...

    Dahua and choppy video?

Check the time stamps. Compare the time stamp in the recorded video to the time shown in the plaback timeline, and on the alarms that tripped. I had playback problems when one cam didn't get updated for Daylight Savings time.

    Dahua and choppy video?

Pmedicij: I just realized you're not the Original Poster. Albertolt: You have similar problems, but it seems there are differences. Symptoms: Playback: --- Web interface to NVR: no problem. Web browser video is smooth --- Native interface in NVR: choppy video using monitor directly...

    Dahua and choppy video?

I'll take that to mean the web interface to the NVR, not a web interface to the cam. Good info. Connect the laptop to the same subnet of the cams, and surf in to the cam directly, using the cam's ip addr. But let's put that test on hold, based on the info in your last post. And I withdraw my...

    Dahua and choppy video?

Are you using IVS? When a tripwire is crossed, there can be a short lag. Can you connect the cam to a laptop? If so, do the symptoms change? This test could isolate the problem to the camera or NVR. Did you make your own cables? How long are the runs? How many co/nnections along the run...

    Disappointing - RESOLVED!

@usernameismyusername , You're a newbie. So the forum will cut you some slack. And as you said, you're really busy. @usernameismyusername: you threw a shit bomb, with your original post (OP), then walked away from your OP. That's lame. You, as an OP, have a responsibility to check on...

    Black Color Camera

Andy, If Dahua makes a black cam, will it be anodized black? Or painted black? Some reasons for asking: - anodized black has a different color than painted black. Sorta shiny. - anodized black may be cooler in direct sunlight than painted black. So I'm curious what Dahua has opinions on...

    Disappointing - RESOLVED!

You lobbed a complaint, and disappeared. A "Forum" requires interaction, especially if posting negative stuff. A fair dialogue should follow on this interactive forum. 47 days later, you re-surface. And are surprised by the reaction to your very negative initial post. We're mean! We're...

High Speed Pursuit - Police Shoot Thru Windshield

Besides a hands free radio, a GPS loction feed from the PD car to dispatch would help. Multiple times the PO reports what street he's on, and the cross streets their passing. Some technology would allow the PO to concentrate on driving, two hands on wheel. And having pursuit primary in his...

This coyote spotted at 4:45am today, in my driveway. It's not unusual. There's a den in my backyard, though I've never looked for it. Lotsa folks in my Seattle neighborhood are intimidated or scared when they spot a coyote, which is rare since the 'yotes are so stealthy. I didn't see any on...

A few mods here and there and you get a cartel truck

Not sure why it's labelled as a "Cartel Truck" ?? The US Gov't and other gov'ts use armored and semi-armored vehicles. In a previous life, I worked for a firm that provided cams and NVRs for Dept of State. To mate our system with their vehicle, they lent us an armored Suburban. There are many...
