Thanks for your answer @wittaj! Yes the schedule option is a possibility which does work good when the times are right. But as its at a client, I'm looking for something more permanent. Not really looking to be on site 4 (or more) times a year to change the schedules on 25 separate camera GUI's... -

Hi all, Currently in the process of installing a system with a Dahua NVR5832-R-4KS2. This one has 2 separate ethernet ports. Your problem is that you add them using the IP address but try to monitor them outside of the network without any means to get inside your network away from home: a VPN (Virtual Private Network). I'd recommend getting the DMSS app, this is the latest from Dahua. What camera's do you have? Are they connected to an NVR? How did you connect the NVR/camera's in the app? By scanning its QR code using P2P? Its not recommended to do it this way because of security implications for your network.- jarrow

Slanted soffit problem
Great ideas, thank you guys! The problem with the plate idea would be that one could bang its head easily at this height, which wouldn't be nice to sheetmetal. When I think of pole mounts I think of the ones which let you mount a camera to a pole, like PFA152-E, but I think I know what you mean...- jarrow

Thanks for the great review @wittaj! I'm really interested in both mentioned modifications, as this is the only part holding me back from buying it. Another option would be to add a VTH to the wall, I assume, so I'll get notified whenever I don't have my phone with me in the house. -
