Best day/night option without external API

Thanks for your answer @wittaj! Yes the schedule option is a possibility which does work good when the times are right. But as its at a client, I'm looking for something more permanent. Not really looking to be on site 4 (or more) times a year to change the schedules on 25 separate camera GUI's...

Best day/night option without external API

Hi guys, I have a system running at a factory with a total of 16 (in the nearby future 25) HFW5442 and HFW5241 cams on a NVR5832-R-4KS2. I'm trying to get the best day/night settings and am running into the known problem of not being able to have color and the perfect shutter/gain options at...

Seperate NVR from network, but still access it

Hi all, Currently in the process of installing a system with a Dahua NVR5832-R-4KS2. This one has 2 separate ethernet ports. One will be used for the cams and the other will be connected to the local LAN, possibly on a separate VLAN. How would one go about making it possible to view the cams...

Changed phone providers and now I can't see my cameras remotely.

Your problem is that you add them using the IP address but try to monitor them outside of the network without any means to get inside your network away from home: a VPN (Virtual Private Network). The IP addresses you add is probably something like 192.168.x.x. You can do two things: 1. Preffered...

Changed phone providers and now I can't see my cameras remotely.

I'd recommend getting the DMSS app, this is the latest from Dahua. What camera's do you have? Are they connected to an NVR? How did you connect the NVR/camera's in the app? By scanning its QR code using P2P? Its not recommended to do it this way because of security implications for your network.

    Slanted soffit problem

Great ideas, thank you guys! The problem with the plate idea would be that one could bang its head easily at this height, which wouldn't be nice to sheetmetal. When I think of pole mounts I think of the ones which let you mount a camera to a pole, like PFA152-E, but I think I know what you mean...

    Slanted soffit problem

Hi guys, I have a place where I need camera's mounted under a slanted soffit at weird angles. Any ideas on how to mount a turret (like a 5442) best to be able to look under the gutter? The gutter is just ~1.90m above ground. Another option would be to mount on the wall, but that's less...

    Review- VTO2301R-P 2mp Door Station/Doorbell Dahua/Empiretech

Thanks for the great review @wittaj! I'm really interested in both mentioned modifications, as this is the only part holding me back from buying it. Another option would be to add a VTH to the wall, I assume, so I'll get notified whenever I don't have my phone with me in the house.

    Please help with computer build...

About two months ago, I built two BI systems on Dell OptiPlex 9020 SFF's, which look about the same size as the 3040 SFF. Mine came refurbished with a 256GB 2.5" SSD, DVD drive and I bought WD Purples. The SSD was mounted in the 3.5" HDD slot with some kind of adaptor plate. I did exactly what...

    Camera selection advise

Thanks a lot guys, @sebastiantombs and @mat200 ! I'll try to broaden my budget to fit a better starter system. I'm not that well known with bullet calibers, but I get the point haha. The camera differences are a lot more clear now. But about the NVR, I guess my question about the white...

    Camera selection advise

Hi guys, I'm new to the world of IP cams and wanting to start with just two camera's to cover the biggest part of the house and upgrade later. I want to place Dahua turret/eyeball cams on two small detached buildings: the garage and the shed. One problem I have: it's not really possible to lay...
