Show me some of you ideas for hiding cameras.

I'm looking for inspiration,I'm looking to mount on my front door at eye level to get a good facial ID of anyone walking through my gate towards my door. I've currently 2 cameras looking at that area which do provide in most instances a very good shot of any activity at the gate. But I'm...

    i7 8700k vs i7 9700

As above I found memory utilisation around 50% max with BI Consile running and open with all cams on screen using 8gb RAM If you have the budget then as @bp2008 says fill it up as you wish. But If you dont have much budget to spare I would prioritize disk space or a ssd for OS and BI db if...

Indoor night motion sensor recording for sleep monitoring

I've used plenty of these and they are a great piece of kit for any of these uses. My wife was in hospital for a bowel resection (crohn's disease) and the tv in the hospital (UK) is a joke £10 per day for tv and internet. Ok if your only there for a day or so but when your bed bound for 2...

    i7 8700k vs i7 9700

This is interesting to me, I like all things computer related, I have a ryzen gen2 cpu desktop as a daily user for work and play circa £800 build approx 2 years ago, but nothing fancy. My BI machine is a HP elite desk with 6th gen i5 in there. The ryzen pc has 16gb ram and the HP has 8...

IPC-HFW4239T-ASE TrueColor - new bullet camera.

I don't think the video and images came out to good on the shop review, I just looked and it looks like it's been reduced in quality by either Amazon or the upload to basically lowest of the low

    5231R-ZE poor image at night!

I do agree that its obviously not a 100% scene replication so accept that and your quite right in that the ir reflects more from the fence and wall. But I was taken by surprise a bit by how well the huisun actually comes out and as I said previous we all now that it's not such a great camera...

    5231R-ZE poor image at night!

I must have a serious case of OCD with the cameras, I'm always fiddling But to me I still think it could be better. Dont forget one of the stills is from the crap huisun camera. That 1 of the main reasons I think it could be better.

    5231R-ZE poor image at night!

I will do when I've finished work tomorrow if I can figure out how to do it from BI. They do look ok until you look at them on a 24" 1080p monitor. Then the dahua looks quite poor. I get that within the limitations of the current environment its located ie little to no ambient light I'm not...

    5231R-ZE poor image at night!

I keep bashing my head against a brick wall here and and hoping some of the more technical whizz members can jump on board here and see what we they suggest. I've got 3 of these cameras but 1 imparticular seems to be having some issues in the dark! I'll upload a still when I can pull one from...

    Playback issue with bvr format

I've emailed support to see if it's something that can be possible for them to do, Whether it get the time of day is another matter. I just think to be be able to just dump the whole lot on a drive and simply place a player on there, just removes any hassle at all. I'm also sure it's not a...

    Playback issue with bvr format

I agree to a point, but it's difficult in the respect that i was given a 24 hour period they wanted, and the fact due to the nature of the incident if I was unable to for whatever reason they would seize the equipment. They actually brought the point up about being native format to whatever...

    Playback issue with bvr format

I'll send a email through to support as I'm sure it cannot hurt anything. As I'm sure it would be well received should they decide to make one available.

That's very true, although you would think it would be a sensible option. But I suppose I'm only a small time end user

    Playback issue with bvr format

Good valid point! I've just tried the codecs, whilst it does enable WMP to play the files you have no ability at all to go forward or back or FF Surely they BI dev must be looking at just releasing a very lightweight portable player for the format.

    Playback issue with bvr format

I actually found that post just after I posted. The default file size is 4gb as you say but when doing 5 cams over the 24 hour period ot adds up quickly. Also agree about it being unreasonable to seize the equipment but over here in the UK they are actually allowed to do this. I have a...

    Playback issue with bvr format

I understand how the .bvr gmformat is proprietary to blue iris, but have they produced a player itself? I've had the police round for an incident "knife attack" which took place near my property and my cameras have caught some footage and also sound from this incident. The police obviously...

    IVMS 4500 HD Issue

You also need to make sure the port itself is forwarded and open in your router. I cannot stress how foolish this is unless you setup a secure connection via vpn. Your leaving your house door unlocked for a burglar to just walk in (in laymens terms)
