    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

Sadly with all these Chinese-sourced gadgets we all end up at the mercy of the OEM.

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

So the bottom line is you can get email to work from some of the apps, but not from the hardware itself, right? And the port probe showed that the server was reachable, which we'd expect if you had ever had any successes. I think I have to agree that this smells like firmware BS. :(

Best deal on Imporx (Huisun) v2!

I may have missed it in this or another Huisun thread, but has anyone discovered a way to send the v1/v2 cameras commands via terminal or an URL?

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

@nikuk -- it does sound like you guys may have a firmware problem. If you have a minute, try the manual Sendgrid probe I posted recently.

Go here: https://app.sendgrid.com/settings/credentials Click Add New Credential. On the form which appears click the MAIL checkbox ONLY. Pick a new name and password and click Create.

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

The "sender" email box is the email address that the messages will look like they came from. The true sender is your Sendgrid account. You're allowed to set a fake "sender" for convenience in case you want a different reply-to address. As long as the email server is Sendgrid, you are sending...

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

I think Sendgrid gives you 12,000 emails with their free account. I would advise anyone using Google to make a new account just for SMTP. It would be a shame to have your primary Google account killed because a camera went nuts and sent too much email.

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

That's interesting. Seems like it should work. I wonder if there is a networking problem, like the SMTP port being blocked somewhere between you and Sendgrid. I would suggest that you try making a direct connection to Sendgrid's server with a command line tool. This is pretty easy to do and it...

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

My screen shots are from the Remote Management panel in iVMS-4200. In other versions like the browser, I think there is just a checkbox for SSL. On the NVR Remote Management, SSL set to "close" seems to mean "no checkmark." SSL off on port 587 is what works for me at Sendgrid. "user name" is...

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

Have you configured a recipient in your NVR? The Sendgrid account just provides a means to send email somewhere else. Are you trying to receive email there too? You should use another email account to receive the alerts sent via Sendgrid.

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

I have the 16 port 4k NVR: LTN8916-P16, firmware 3.3.6 build 151026 These are the Sendgrid settings that work for me. Note that the user name, not shown in the image, is JUST the username, NOT an email address as it would be for Gmail.

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

I set SSL to "close" so I am sending without encryption. To minimize risks from this I used Sendgrid's feature where you can make a a linked account--a new name and password that is ONLY good for sending mail, not actually logging in to Sendgrid. If that login gets comprised, no big deal.

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

Sign up for a free Sendgrid account and use the settings earlier in this thread. It's working well for me. The only drawback is Gmail (where I receive email) tags all Sendgrid email as spam, even my NVR messages. I had to create a filter that overrides Gmail's desire to spam-can these messages...

    Cool! What's the addon called?

Best deal on Imporx (Huisun) v2!

I think that buried somewhere in the camera settings is a way to set the maximum amount of rotation allowed. But I haven't used it and I don't know if that value is respected in the boot up movement self test. If it isn't used to limit the self test motion then you are in a jam. Even if you...

Next Gen Mini PTZ is almost here! 30x optical zoom, auto tracking!

While I enjoy my v1-v2 10x cameras, there is no way I'd spend this much on a new model. At these prices I'd want better support and smarter motion detection.

PTZ v1 motion detection seems overly sensitive or blind with not much in between

Now I am doubting my memory @klapsica... I'll have to play with it again this weekend because I can't remember the details of why I abandoned motion detection, just that I did.

PTZ v1 motion detection seems overly sensitive or blind with not much in between

I found that the motion detection on the v2 was too prone to false positives, or was blind... couldn't get a usable middle ground. YMMV! (I've been relying on Line Crossing or Area Intrusion motion detection on my Hik cameras instead, as I have overlapping coverage.)

PTZ v1 motion detection seems overly sensitive or blind with not much in between

I find that the motion detection on the V2 is also totally useless.

Any idea what changes are in LTS (Hik) NVR firmware V3.3.6_160608 ?

My LTS 4k NVR (LTN8916-P16) came with firmware v3.3.6 build 151026. LTS offers build 160608, but they do not make available any patch notes. I've emailed their tech support to ask for a changelist, but don't expect a reply since I've never gotten one for any other question. :) Any other LTS...

Anyone have an idea when LTS might update their gear with the Hik fix? I am going to try Sendgrid for now but I wonder if LTS will catch up in weeks, months, or never.

    LTS (Hikvision) LTN8916-P16 4K NVR

You need to change some things on the cameras themselves. The NVR sadly does not offer direct control of things like WDR. Fortunately the NVR will help you reach the cameras directly without moving network cables around. Check this post for the URL format...

Huisun IP PTZ Camera, with Hikvision Protocols

While it does work on Android, driving the camera remotely can be a pain due to lag. I have good upstream bandwidth at home, but it's still kind of crummy. Making good use of presets will help.

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

I emailed LTS support to advise them of the problem. Hopefully all the vendors can put pressure on Hik to issue a fix. At best that is going to be... well... a long time. Even if Hik is interested in fixing an issue with one provider, I expect it will take months for fixes to roll out through...

My Gmail hookup is no longer working as of this morning, too. I am using an LTS 4k NVR. So... What do we do? Is there any other free email provider that will work?

    LTS (Hikvision) LTN8916-P16 4K NVR

So far, so good. I haven't had any issues with the unit other than a one-time GUI lockup... In Playback mode it froze up, but recovered after a few minutes. (It was still recording and serving web pages during that time.) My main complaint is the poor quality of the web access to the unit...

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive Hik-compatible wifi camera?

I could use a wifi camera for use in temporary locations, indoor or sheltered outdoor. 2.8 mm or 4.0 mm lens would probably be fine. I can get one from LTS but before I do, does anyone have an alternative they have been happy with?

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

My gmail did die about a week ago, but I got it working again with some voodoo... logging in, turning email off/on in the NVR, re-testing in NVR. As of today, it is still working. But they certainly could be rolling out changes that hurt us...

    GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

I suggest that you abandon that Gmail account. You've spent a long time trying to fix it, but something is clearly screwy. Fortunately Gmail accounts are free, so make a new one just for camera emails. You can easily set up forwarding rules, so the email will end up wherever you need it. If...
