    Full video review - IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E

This weekend I have started it up, after quite a long time(finally finalizing the install) and zoomed out to the max, which is pretty much the end of my block and it looked very clean. This issue is only at night, or all the time? By the way, I have seen your video, after an hour that you have...

    Full video review - IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E

This issue is only with the new E model, right? I have the older one and it focuses nicely at 100%.

Ready to take the dive... but.

This is mine. PTZ is just drawn in there, because this picture is older.

Or get two fixed cameras and a PTZ and a LPR, like me. ;)

    Review-Dahua SD1A203T-GN Starlight Mini PTZ

Thanks, but I would like to install it on the wall, under the wall lamp, by the patio door. Eye level. I don't think that is a good idea, to see people from above.

    Review-Dahua SD1A203T-GN Starlight Mini PTZ

Andy, you don't have anything that would work, even with some modifications? Most likely, you have some mounts in stock, and you could just try some out.

    Review-Dahua SD1A203T-GN Starlight Mini PTZ

I'm considering this camera for the backyard, by the patio sliding door. I don't like the mounting options, offered by Dahua. I'm looking at this mount on Amazon, and it seems like the diameter should accommodate the diameter of the camera...

First time setup new cameras w/second NIC/no internet

Haha, I'm just reading your post, when you ordered your system from Andy. With a friend, we have just ran the cables yesterday. I wanted to see the cams, but I have realized very quickly, that I don't know how to do it. I'm about to order another cam, for the rear by the patio sliding door. I'm...

First time setup new cameras w/second NIC/no internet

Thanks you, you have helped me a lot, thanks. It was easy to play with the cameras, while they were connected to the router, but it a whole new thing for mw, to do it without that connection. Now I will have to setup each camera, one by one and assign them the new address, right?

First time setup new cameras w/second NIC/no internet

Thanks. So, there I set an address for the BI PC, right? After that, what I do to "see" the cameras? Use the Dahua Config Tool, to "find" them, or just use BI for that?

Where do I setup these addresses, at the Nic cards?

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

There are some, but some have different shapes. You will have to decide, which one would work better for you. I have just got the SD5925U-HNI(has also autotracking), there is a SD4925 version as well, cheaper but does not have auto tracking, than there is a dome versions, something like the...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I'm thinking about using some rubber between the two surfaces, but the mounting screws will still be transmitting the sound, how much I don't know. I have some narrow rubber tape and I will try it out, maybe I will just place a few squares here and there, not on the whole surface. Also, I'm...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Any of you guys/girls, managed to isolate somehow the camera from the house, to reduce the noise? I have it hooked up temporarily and I can hear it inside the house, when is moving. I'm pretty sure, it will be very bad at night.

What to use, to cover the pigtail from a cam?

I have just installed a PTZ camera, to one of the roof rafters(it is the right term?/ under the eave) and the pictail will run under it, over the other side and into the wall. I would like to cover that wire, since it is prone to vandalism. I have checked out some of the metal and plastic...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

OK, I'm done with my new bracket, that I have made. This will be installed, as close as possible against the roof. It was a quick and dirty job, I did not really care about the slot finish. I was pretty much, using the bolt pattern feature on my milling machine, and I was just punching down with...

    On The Subject of Alarms

I'm in a similar situation, that I'm about to install my new PTZ camera, and I was wondering, if I should run any of the wires(other than the Ethernet cable-got POE+ switch), that are coming out from the camera? At the corner of the garage(front of the house), there is no real need for audio...

Can I use a POE switch to power the cameras, but also my PCs?

This weekend, I will take it apart and put up a picture here.

Can I use a POE switch to power the cameras, but also my PCs?

Mine is a refurbished one, purchased from BV on Ebay, for $75. I guess, I will be looking into it first.

Can I use a POE switch to power the cameras, but also my PCs?

I will have to take it apart and look around what can be done. Maybe increase the heatsink(s), or adding a fan, as you said. It has to be a big size, maybe external, to be quite. Even with a fan, I'm not sure how good it will be, since will circulate hot air.

Can I use a POE switch to power the cameras, but also my PCs?

A side question, I'm buying a 59225U PTZ, it should work directly with it, without power supply, right? I will have that switch in the garage(in LA), and I'm worried how it will work, when the temperature is around 110-120F.

Can I use a POE switch to power the cameras, but also my PCs?

    Yes, I have a BV-Tech 16+2 port POE+ 130W switches.

Can I use a POE switch to power the cameras, but also my PCs?

I'm installing a POE+ switch in my garage and all the cameras will be plugged into it. Output goes to the BI PC in living room. I also have PCs, audio/video devices in the garage that needs internet connection. (home theater, 2x PCs for electronic repairs) Can I use the same switch+Ethernet...
