Well either Hikvision don't have a clue about what their products do or there is something that I don't get.. After playing around and setting on the "Capture Schedule" an "Event" for all weekdays, changing some "Capture Parameters" and enabling some Basic and/or Smart events, it looks like this...
Hello again,
more questions about the 7608NI-I2/8P. On "Storage">"Schedule Settings" there is a "Record Schedule" (Question on this thread: Record Schedule, what is that? (Hikvision)) and next to it there is a "Capture", with "Capture Schedule" and "Capture Parameters". Looks like the Record...
No wonder why a company such Hikvision has such a modern technology in low price but with the worst documentation ever.. It is chinese.. English is not my mother tongue and I can understand that I might not be reading and interpreting correctly things on menus but for some reason I just don't...
I wonder why hikvision products are so complicated.. Different options on the camera than the NVR, more setting on the one, less on the other, different description for the same things.. Like 2 different companies make them and try to match them together.. Anyway, with some mix and match from...
Hello,
I am new to the Hikvision NVRs and since I finally managed to make the cameras have internet access, send e-mails and push notifications on various events, I now want to know how can I record on the HDD of the NVR when such an event is triggered.
I have set up the line crossing event...
After 2+ hours of trying I figured it out. Answer here:
How to make camera have access to the internet through NVR POE and send e-mails from the camera?
Thanks again!
After 2 hours of testing which involved packet sniffing, a setup of an SMTP dummy server on my laptop and a real SMTP with TLS that I could use to debug I found that there is nothing wrong with the camera or the NVR.. I don't know if I should laugh or cry.. The problem is the ports that the...
But I try to send e-mail directly from the camera, not through the NVR's e-mail function.. Aren't these 2 separate functions?
As for the camera, we made sure it is connected to the internet and the dns resolution is working since the NTP test was successful with a domain name.
I also tried to...
Also tried to test the mail function from the camera (not having to do anything with the NVR) but again it says "Testing failed" without any further info...
That worked! :) Thanks!
So the camera was trying to contact the internet but then the reply didn't know where to go... I knew i wasn't good in networking :P
Having DNS as 192.168.0.1 would be no problem if the NVR system works as designed, it would just lookup the domain name on 192.168.0.1.. The problem is not domain resolution as with IP on the NTP it still fails.
I was thinking that there might be something with the firmware but I generally tend not to update something that is stable and working.. The problem now is that the emails are not working but I read that some people have random restarts and other problems with the latest firmware (which I don't...
Yes Keyboard you are right, there is a test button from the NVR GUI but it says "Failed to send test email, please check the parameters or network status". So again something is wrong with the mails function. The NVR obviously has access to the internet since, so what else might be the problem?
I am not using gmail as I said in the first message.. I use my own company's mail server. What screenshot? I have attached one in the first message just to show that there is no "TEST" button. All the fields are completed correctly..
I have a DS-2CD2342WD-I camera connected to a DS-7608NI-I2 NVR through the POE port #1.
NVR LAN network settings:
DHCP Off
192.168.0.100
255.255.255.0
192.168.0.1
DNS: 192.168.0.1 and 8.8.8.8
Internal NIC ip: 192.168.254.1 (default)
Virtual host enabled (I can access the camera as...
Hello,
is there a way to test the e-mail settings you enter in the Network>Advanced Settings>Email page? On the camera page there is a test button, but not on the NVR. I am asking because for some reason I just set up the email setting but I never receive an e-mails.
p.s. I am not using gmail...
Sorry to bring up such an old thread but my question is on this. What is the downside if you buy Chinese version hacked to english NVR and cameras?
Thanks!
Hotelone did you receive the DS-7608NI-I2/8P from Secure Life Surveillance system from aliexpress? I want to buy one too from the same guy and was wondering how your experience was. What version is it? Chinese? Did you try firmware update? Thanks!
Hello all!
I want to buy a hikvision nvr and a couple of cameras from aliexpress and I keep seeing "support Upgrade", "international version", "multilanguage support", "don't update firmware or you will break the cam" etc..
What do all these mean? Are these cameras not original hikvision...
