Using a vpn with blue iris ?

Are there any guides/tutorials for setting up open vpn on my blue iris server and then what I’d need to do on my iPhone to access it. I have read through the noobs thread but unfortunately no ‘with it’ grandchildren.

Using a vpn with blue iris ?

trying to spend a bit of time on making my network as secure as possible. My cameras are not open to being viewed remotely directly, they are accessed remotely via blue iris app, so the only port forward set up on my router is to blue iris. I use pia (private internet access) vpn service on my...

    Dahua H2.65 IPC-HFW4431R-Z 2.8mm ~12mm

Virgin media super hub. So when these new cameras arrive is it best to disable upnp on them even though upnp is disabled on router. So the cor35vet firmware is not worth getting onto these cameras.

    Dahua H2.65 IPC-HFW4431R-Z 2.8mm ~12mm

Ah ok, so are you saying if it’s ever been enabled then it gets disabled it can still be accessed even though it’s now disabled. One of my cameras reverted to default last week but upnp was disabled then, has been since this first happened months ago.

    Dahua H2.65 IPC-HFW4431R-Z 2.8mm ~12mm

I thought the conclusion was the hikvisions were not hacked as they are not open to the internet, no port forwarding to my cameras, they are viewed remotely via blue iris.

    Dahua H2.65 IPC-HFW4431R-Z 2.8mm ~12mm

In preparation for when my 2 arrive (uk) are there any things you need to do with cameras before connecting to network (Chinese Ali express cameras, English firmware hacked) Also is it nesessary and advisable to flash modded firmware or should it be fine to just set it up and use it.

    Deleted clips

Ah, ok so if I have 180gb free do I take 5% off and then split this between the new and stored folders or allocate it all to the stored folder ? The stored folder was set to 9gb so guess the clip in question has been deleted. I’ve run a file restorer for deleted files but while it’s detected...

    Deleted clips

What are the ideal settings for this fenderman, I’ve got ‘do not monitor for free space’ unchecked. Limit size is 9gb, limit clip age = 16 days Move to folder= stored, although I can’t find a ‘stored’ folder? I’ve got a storage folder in the blue iris file explorer but they are just the videos...

    Deleted clips

i had a clip from the 14th that is not showing in my clips within blue iris anymore so assume it has been deleted. My question is, when it gets deleted does it go into a different folder or is it deleted for good ? Thanks

    Dahua H2.65 IPC-HFW4431R-Z 2.8mm ~12mm

Just ordered 2 of these 4mp Dahuas to replace my hikvision 2032 cameras which have started randomly reverting back to default up addresses and becoming a pain. Hopefully these Dahua cameras will be an upgrade in picture quality.

2132-I turret camera gone off line

Thanks Alastair, I managed to change it back using the batch configuration tool. My cameras are not directly accessible from the internet, they are viewed via blue iris so not sure what happened. Password is not the default one either.

2132-I turret camera gone off line

One of my cams has done this again after over a month of being fine, gone back to default settings. I can see the cam in the sadp tool but it won’t let me save the new parameters when I change them back to suit my network, just brings up a ‘failed to save parameters’ message Any thoughts?

2132-I turret camera gone off line

Ok, so running shieldup scan gave me 'the equipment at the target IP address did not respond to our upnp probes' All port tests came back as ok, they are all stealth. The only thing that failed was the ping reply test, is this anything to worry about or not?

2132-I turret camera gone off line

The camera that went back to default ip address and password has been fine since I reset it but now my other camera (2032) has done the exact same thing twice in two days ! The cameras are not directly port forwarded as they are viewed remotely via blue iris. Strange !

Need recommendation for upgrade to his 2032

This is a good example, this is 7am this morning so getting light, face is very blurry. Not sure whether a upgrade to this camera or an additional camera with a closer lens would be my best option for face recognition postimage org safe

2132-I turret camera gone off line

Hi fenderman, sorry didn't really explain that well. My router port forwards to the blue iris server, not the actual cameras. I assume I still need to port forward to blue iris or is there a better way to remote view blue iris ?

Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

Ok, hopefully it's simpler than it looks in the guide :-) My cameras are accessed remotely via port forwarding but browsing this forum this morning indicates that this is probably not wise ? What other method is there to view cameras when away from home network, actually it's not the cameras I'm...

Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

Alistair, my camera which is locked to Chinese is a DS-2CD2032-I software version 5.2.5 This and my other camera are connected to a poe hub which is then connected to my tiny pc with blue iris installed. Can this downgrade be performed with my system as it is just by changing the tiny pc IP...

2132-I turret camera gone off line

Thanks Alistair, I shall look into those. Is there a way to also secure the 2132 turret cam as this is our baby monitor camera? The users in blueiris show no unusual activity, only log ins from our own devices.

2132-I turret camera gone off line

Actually I lied there, my 2032 is running the default password as I tried to update firmware on it last year (schoolboy error) so it lost its English menu so when logging in now is all in Chinese, and as I'm not fluent in Chinese I can't get to the security section to modify it

2132-I turret camera gone off line

Yes I have external access, both my cameras are not running default passwords, well this camera I had the issue with had reverted back to factory password but I've changed that again now. Both this and my 2032 are showing v5.0, build 140714.
