    They do not. The 4MP resolution is 2688×1520 as per the spec sheet, which is close to 16:9.

    Thanks for this explanation! I wasn't sure what WDR would actually do, but now I know. Unfortunately I don't think I can create a scene with both direct sunlight ánd shade where I'm currently living, I'll leave that for another forum member. Fyi, I've removed the images to keep the thread clean.

    I don't mind the wait or the uncertainty, I've just now ordered a DS-2CD2542FWD-IS. The specs for these cams are too great to wait. Hope to receive it within the next month or so. I'll update this thread with details once I've received it.
