Review-Dahua/EmpireTech Dual lens IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 (The Boobie Cam Upgrade)

Probably depends on NVR. Just try it and see. Some will decode two cams on the same IP and some won't (I assume). Initially Blue Iris would only "see" one of the cameras but a software update allowed it to see both.

Review-Dahua/EmpireTech Dual lens IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 (The Boobie Cam Upgrade)

Both cameras communicate over a single ethernet cable. So if one slot refers to the ethernet interface it will support both cameras (unless the NVR software is maxed out).

Review-Dahua/EmpireTech Dual lens IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 (The Boobie Cam Upgrade)

Personally, the internal reflections (from dome) degrade the image so much that I turn the IR illumination off and piggy-back on illumination from other nearby (turret style) cameras. But I'm using my boobie cam for wide-area surveillance

Review-Dahua/EmpireTech Dual lens IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 (The Boobie Cam Upgrade)

The profile is set to Day/Night so daytime imagery (still default/WDR) is not effected. For night, I have Brightness at 80 and Contrast at 70, Backlight at WDR, and Illuminator off. All else default. I have some IR illumination from nearby T5442 cameras (and I plan to add a dedicated...

Review-Dahua/EmpireTech Dual lens IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 (The Boobie Cam Upgrade)

Feedback on my experience. I previously had the 2K dual (boobie) cam ( HDBW4231F-E2-M) on the front of my house for a 180 degree surveillance overview. It worked quite well with default settings until I nearly destroyed it. It turned out that I only blistered the lens coating, as @wittaj...

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

Here are two identical shots from my D4231F-E2-M with the built-in IR illuminators on and off. Note the improved contrast and crispness with the IR lights off. The dome was as clean as I could get it. I think optical distortion from the actual dome may be responsible for some of the "fog"...

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

Thanks. I was aware of the LINOVISION/Loryta device but not the IPCamPower combiner/splitter you mentioned (which does the switch function at the source). Thanks for that information. I run (almost) everything from an older Unifi US-24-250w switch so power is not an issue (although fan...

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

True but that would require a PoE switch or at least a powered splitter at the cameras. There is really no good location for that unless I add some sort of utility box. In the meantime, I turned off the built-in IR illumination for that duo dome (boobie) camera and the image is much better...

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

The domes on these boobie cams must be clean, inside and out. As a test, I mounted the cam without the cover/domes and the images were the best ever (excellent, actually). Then I carefully cleaned the insides of the domes and re-mounted the cover while the camera mounted It was impossible to...

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

@wittaj: you da man!! THANK YOU so much. I removed the small rubber ring (that seals against the dome) and rubbed the front lens face with a paper towel, wetted with alcohol. That improved the image greatly but there was still some haze. So I used a genuine lens cloth which eliminated...

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

What @wittaj said. I'll experiment with that when I get a chance. After my misadventure, I inspected the camera about 2 a.m. and could see visible moisture trapped inside the rubber ring that surrounds the bad camera's lens. Quite possible that the long water-soak destroyed the coating and...

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

Sad saga with promising ending and a mystery. Sad saga: I finally got my 2mp boobie cam (HDBW4231F-E2-M) mounted and aimed the way it needed to be. In while cleaning the insides of the domes (before replacing the cover) had a fit of terminal stupidity and squirted one lens with Invisible Glass...

Does BI use the Windows Quick Sync drivers?

My i7-3770 is a HP small form factor box (about half thickness of a standard PC). The hardware is solid, factory configuration but HP never sold it with Win 10 and Intel was not eager to propose a non-HP driver. I am quite pleased to know that the GPU makes little difference. After enabling...

    Blue Iris Audio Tutorial?

Is there a tutorial for Blue Iris audio? When I do a fresh start for BI it seems I can hear audio from all camera microphones on the PC running BI. If I select "audio from selected camera and mute others" (under main settings/cameras) I get exactly what I would expect (only hear selected...

Thanks for the info. Using sub-streams (except for a T2231) my CPU is running 15-20%.

Does BI use the Windows Quick Sync drivers?

Thanks. I appreciate your perspective on the effect of the GPU. I have also an i7-6700 box with GPU that does work under Win 10. I use it mainly for video where the GPU makes a difference. I was considering moving BI to that box but will hold off, at least until I go to H265. I'm trying to...

Does BI use the Windows Quick Sync drivers?

I probably answered my own question. There is not a clear change in CPU load when I disable/enable GPU in BI main settings. The 3770 seems to have enough power without GPU (12 cameras) so this isn't critical but I thought it might reduce power consumption if the GPU was helping. This does make...

Does BI use the Windows Quick Sync drivers?

I doubt anyone knows but ipcamtalk seems the best source for such info. I am running BI on a HP i-7-3770 PC running Win 10. HP never sold this box with Win 10 so there is no HP-approved Win 10 driver with Quick Sync. Task Manager does not display any GPU columns. But BI Status shows I or I+...

Update: I think my intermittent IPC-HDW2231T-ZS-S2 image problem was fixed by the latest Blue Iris update (Release 5.2.9.14 x64 (6/9/2020)). It's hard to be sure with intermittent problems but images have been normal for three days.

Disregard. Don't know how or why, but now cycle images fill the Chrome window as I would expect.

Small Image while cycling cameras in windows Chrome ui3

When I open ui3 in Windows Chrome and cycle cameras, the cam images only fill about 2/3 of the window. I can zoom but even the first zoom step (x1) overflows the window (edges outside window). Changing resolution doesn't matter. In Windows Explorer the images fill the window as I would...

Latest New 20181228 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea

Latest New 20181228 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea

Checking if there is an update is for HDBW4231F-E2-M multi-lens. I have no real problems and cam works OK in Explorer but Chrome requires a plug-in. I have firmware version 2.622.0000000.32.R, Build Date: 2019-08-27

Andy: What is status of firmware update for HDW2231T-ZS-S2? Word doc in top post doesn't open. Is it a bad link or is a different update pending? I have a IPC-HDW2231T-ZS-S2 that works OK except Blue Iris image goes bizarre (see below) at random periods: jpg snapshot much bigger (500K-900K)...

    Reolink IP Cameras

Well, fenderman was right, even if he is less than diplomatic. He said I was satisfied with Reolink only because I had never seen images from a good camera. I have replaced all my Reolink cams with Dahua starlights: mostly T5442TM-AS plus two HFW1831E for wide area over-watch and one T2231T-ZS...

REVIEW: Budget 4MP Turret Comparison - IPC-T2431T-AS vs Chinese HDW4433C-A

FYI, I have two IP cams and a TiVo in my barn, which has 120v power but no hardwire LAN. I use a pair of NanoStation AC Loco 5GHz airMAX bridges and a POE switch to connect to my LAN. Edit: The two NanoStations cost about $100 but I preferred that to burying a cat5 line. My bridge is only...

    Dahua HFW1831E Focus?

I am somewhat happier with the 1831s. I'll explain. First is an IR shot from a HD2231T-ZS in a darkened room. This shows the crisp definition typical in my 2M and 4M Dahua cameras. The next shot show the "muddy" image I was getting from a new HFW1831E. Then I realized that that camera...
