    A little help with Blueiris

You'll change the storage location on the clips and archiving tab. Also for the camera did you try using find/inspect to discover camera?

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

He said there was no need to pre-order because he will receive plenty of stock. The only reason I tried to pre-order was because others here suggested it and have pre-ordered.

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I tried to pre-order some as well and was told that I had to wait. Thats ok though I'm sure we will find out here when they are available.

    Edge Router by Ubiquiti

I just received mine yesterday. It was running a pretty old software version so i tried to upgrade it and it failed. Tried downloading several older releases and those failed too. Had to upgrade from command line. From what I found online it seems to be a common problem.

    Package thief

It looks like I am right in the sweet spot at 100 ft plus/minus a few feet. I contacted Andy and he said he had the HFW5431E-Z on order but none in stock. I think I will pick up one when they are available. I attached pics with the distance and camera location. Would you shoot for the area at...

    Package thief

I do remember reading that now that you mention it. I need to go check out your thread to see how that was done again. My main goal was to be able to read a plate during the day but I'm sure something will happen in the evening and I will regret not covering night time as well.

    Edge Router by Ubiquiti

I've been looking at getting this Ubiquiti router myself. I am used to working with enterprise stuff (Cisco, Juniper, etc) at work but almost embarrassed to say I have an apple airport extreme at home. The airport has been rock solid however i want to be able to configure things that apple wont...

    Package thief

All good points again. I'm pretty sure PTZ is bad idea for LPR but do you think that the SD59225T-HNI or SD59230U-HNI would be able to get a good image if i kept it zoomed near the entrance of the culdesac? I saw the IPC-HFW8232E-Z but i think it may be overkill for what I need? Do you mind...

    Package thief

All good points...I guess I just dont want people to think I am spying on them. Like you said though they probably wouldn't be too concerned unless they are doing something shady. The soffit above my garage is white and white gutters, downspouts etc so I think it helps hide the white cameras...

    Package thief

I am definitely going to replace this soon but haven't decided what to use yet. I like how small the HDB4300F-PT is. I have been following along with all of your camera reviews and your LPR setup. Thanks for all of your advice. I know i want to get at-least one HDW5231R-Z and then probably...

    Package thief

Nothing spectacular here but this car just took a package from a neighbors porch. The camera is a Dahua HDB4300F-PT that I bought a few years ago. Now that I need to read the tag I realize that having the wide view does not help with identification. I also regret not replacing this camera with...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I dropped mine as well and spent about 10 minutes looking for it. It was about 10pm and somewhere in a mulch bed. Luckily I found it. Thought about using a magnet but I'm not sure if it's stainless steel or not? I also regret only ordering one of these cameras.

Analysis paralysis: low voltage cables through drywall

I assume you are pulling more cables than you can terminate on the wall plate itself? I've used a few of the brush type and the scoop type and obviously they will work just fine. I liked the look of the scoop better because you can install it where you cannot see through the hole into the wall...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I had the same problem. I set up a DHCP reservation using the MAC on the base of the camera. Rebooted the camera several times and it did not receive the IP. Checked the config tool and web interface and noticed that the actual MAC was different. Everything working fine now with the correct MAC.

Setting up a wifi camera on a network without access to the router

This may be a situation where something like the Nest camera would work well. I dont believe it requires you to do anything with the router. Once you connect it to wifi you're done.

Missing frames & Ghosting in Recorded Video

    Try disabling direct-to-disc

Worked fine - then went Direct-to-Disk and now image corruption when there is movement...

I switched over to 264h and restarted everything and I still see the ghosting. I cant find the post right now but I believe I was told to make sure I was not running 264h. If I remember correctly I was running 264h so I switched over to h264 at that time.

Ok...I have not tried that yet so I went ahead and made the changes and re-enabled direct-to-disk. Find/Inspect did find the onvif path. I checked my encode modes on the camera and all i have is h.264, h.264h, and mjpeg. As far as I know I dont want to use 264h or mjpeg so I dont think I have...

I don't know how it is the same. I was initially running 30fps but have it set to 15fps for now so maybe thats why. I do not have SD cards installed in any of my cameras. All cameras are basically all set to defaults other than disabling sub-stream and matching fps and iframe interval.
