Hik 2385 works great in browser but NVR can't see it

When “trying a few” make sure to be using port 8000. If you do happen to find a protocol that is compatable, your communication is going to be on port 8000

    HIK-Connect push notifications

Yes! It seems to be working once again! Thank you to everyone who contacted Hik about this. I told my supplier many times about this, and supposedly they were passing along the message to Hik... but strength in numbers!

    HIK-Connect push notifications

I just checked and I WAS able to “enable” alarm in iVMS-4500. I was NOT able to for a while now. I was getting an error. I just need to go trigger an alarm to see if it comes through! Fingers crossed! I’ll report back

Hik 2385 works great in browser but NVR can't see it

If it’s assuming port 80, then I’m guessing your trying to connect via onvif. If so, the onvif has been disable by default in recent FW versions. Login via web browser, and enable onvif. I don’t recal where to find it, I’m sure a google search will help you.

DS-2CD2542FWD-IWS: Audio in Live View but not on Playback - why?

He didn’t mention having an NVR, and stated that he is recording to a local SD card. However, your instructions are still correct. The path to that setting is the same, but when browsing into the camera, not NVR. And I believe that the “record audio” is un-checked by default. I am thinking this...

    Need Help With Multiple NVR's

Yes I realize port forwarding is not the safest these days. What I don’t understand is, your suggesting that I change the RTSP port number in the second NVR? If I do that, how does the app know where to find the feed? Isn’t the app looking at 554? I can’t change that. It’s built into the app...

    Need Help With Multiple NVR's

no i am not using the P2P method, hence the port forwarding... also, 8.8.8.8 is not a gateway, it is a DNS server address. and yes, all my network settings are set properly

    Need Help With Multiple NVR's

I am playing around with a second NVR, and im having an issue. When i add the second NVR to IVMS-4500 on my phone, it works fine as a local connection. But, when i set it up as a remote connection using my DDNS, thats when things get weird. That second connection will receive the feed from the...

    HIKVision Network IP (IPs) question

It’s not letting change the lower one for a reason. You don’t want the lower in the same range as the upper one. The lower one is for the internal managed switch. That keeps the switch, and all the cameras off your network for security reasons.

Viewing Hikvision NVRs cameras on TV?

You need to use a 4th gen Apple TV which lets you install apps. I use “easy cctv”

    Good Spider Web Brush

Just wanted to add my $.02, if you need a 20’ telescoping brush, then your cameras are mounted way to high! I can reach all of my cameras using my wife’s indoor broom ;) (don’t tell her) cameras are way less effective at identifying someone the higher up they are. I like the 8-9’ range

RFI: Hikivision NVR login shows random characters...

I believe that I had a drop down menu of usernames. Somehow I was able to tell which was the admin, and my normal admin password worked on that one. I believe I also remember if I hovered my mouse over a name it expanded to show how long the name was, and the ending of the names were different...

    Laview 16ch 4k NVR

I to have always wondered about flashing a rebranded device to Hik branded firmware. If your able to cross reference which Hik model it is, would it work? It seems like to grey market is slower to get FW updates. I was able to successfully load a Hik branded firmware onto a trendnet NVR I had...

RFI: Hikivision NVR login shows random characters...

This happened to me also when updating to 3.4.96 I found that when I was local at the NVR, I could somehow get in. I don’t remember how though. I then did a factory reset on it and started fresh.

    Troubleshooting POE Powerline

No that’s not the only choice! You can take one of the two breakers and swap it with another one. Just move it up or down one position and now the two will be on the same line!

We all have to ask "stupid" questions in order to become "experts" in any field!

I’m not convinced that you don’t have a reset button... you know to look inside on the board right? If I remember correctly it’s near the SD card slot. Or do you not have one of those either???

NVR does not recognize my new PTZ DS-2DE2202-DE/w

Are you pre configuring the camera before connecting it to the NVR? I always pre configure the camera. At least assign it a proper IP address, then connect to the NVR and manually add it. Try that and report back

    Troubleshooting POE Powerline

It sounds like the POE injector was meant for something specific, and was not the standard 48V which POE operates at. Glad you got it figured out, and that it was a simple/cheap fix!

Hikvision doorbell cam causing chime to buzz

Also, I believe that the required voltage range of the camera is 14-18V. So do not get a 24V transformer!

Hikvision doorbell cam causing chime to buzz

Like you said, the resistor that was supplied is used in place of a chime. Not both. You have the correct voltage transformer, and the correct type of chime. The resistor in the diagram could possibly represent the doorbell camera it’s self. It leaks power through the circuit to power it’s self...

    Troubleshooting POE Powerline

Determin which 2 breakers control the outlets you have the adapters plugged into. If your unfamiliar with how a breaker panel is constructed, then use a piece of tape or something to indicate the two breakers, then take a picture of the panel and post it here. I will tell you what to do from there

    Troubleshooting POE Powerline

Ok that makes more sense. I can tell you that powerline seems to be unreliable. I played around with powerline a few times and always had trouble. As an electrician, I immediately saw a potential issue. The power at your house is decided into two lines. If you have a powerline adapter plugged in...

    P2P server data usage

I assume your talking about the ISP side. I have connections setup using the P2P service, and I have not noticed any data consumption when I’m not actually viewing the stream. To be fair, I have never actually looked for that though. I think my cap with Comcast is over 1TB so I really wouldn’t...

    Hikvision Camera for Birdhouse

    Nvr Beeping

He said he wants the feature. The question was if there is a way to “accept” the alarm so that it will stop beeping. The answer is no. The feature is either on or off, and it will continue to beep until the exception is fixed. Also, Alastair is correct. It’s not a loss on internet causing it...

    Troubleshooting POE Powerline

You said “POE switch through powerline” POE does not pass through a powerline adapter. I have a feeling you didn’t describe your setup accurately. Could you please describe again the chain of components?

Hikvision doorbell cam causing chime to buzz

You haven’t told us yet what type of chime it is. Is it a mechanical type with a coil, or an electronic type? The electronic type are NOT compatible. The wattage of your transformer won’t change anything. However, what is the voltage of your transformer? Is it within the range supported by the...
