    Congratulations!! Thanks for the update. What model did you get? Also are you doing motion detection from the camera or Synology? I prefer doing motion by camera. How did you set this camera up on Synology? I am guessing using ONVIF.

    Just for future you can connect the camera directly to your computer with a lan cable, This is how I did it and the restore went very smooth. You do need to turn off all other adapters including any wifi you have on your computer. I found this the best way. Good job.

    Great advice but keep one thing in mind, Lights attract bugs so if these lights are by your entry doors your bound to get many bugs in your house when people come & go. I have been fighting this for years and the reason I don't keep my entry lights on all the time. Just saying:D
