    Alert spam when triggering groups

I might be misunderstanding how this works (wouldn't be the first time), but my intent is to configure B/I to only generate an alert when the camera is triggered by motion. I want the cameras in the same group to record simultaneously, but no alert except for the camera triggered by motion...

Having good luck with TinyCam Monitor

Yes and you have the option of mjpeg, jpg or h.264. But Blue Iris h.264 doesn't seem to be hardware decoder friendly, so the benefits of TinyCam are lost. Connecting directly to the camera substream is the best performance and doesn't impact Blue Iris. If connected to BI, use for smaller streams...

To Ken if you look at your forums

Wonder if he ever got his license? Half the time spam filters do a good job making sure you get viagra emails but anything with the work "serial number" or "account activation" is blocked. lol

Is this a Gold Buy : Help?

I just paid more than that for a refurbished optiplex i5-6500T so I would say you are doing pretty good at $410 ($510 shipped). The only downside, at least in my case, is that it's actually faster than my desktop computer. It was tempting to swap it out and make it my main computer. I7...

Having good luck with TinyCam Monitor

Works with Blue Iris and produces a smooth framerate on Android. The Blue Iris viewer seems to be limited to about 8 FPS, but MJPEG setting on TinyCam Monitor seems to get full framerate. It also works directly with Hikvision & ONVIF cameras and supports hardware h.264 decoding (and most of the...

I removed the registration from the AMD box and moved it to the 6500T. It's in service and working well. With several MJPEG cameras and 4 Hikvision 4 MP cameras running at full frame rate / full resolution, it's using about 45% with the preview screen closed. This processor supports Intel Quick...

Went with an optiplex micro 6500T 6th gen i5 $450 (refurbished with return accepted and warranty) and a 1500va ups. Waiting on the UPS guy. There are also a lot of 4590T 4th gen / micro form factor available on ebay for around $300. All refurbished or used. Refurbished seems like a gamble. It...

Perfect... either of those would work, even a used one off ebay. Lower power requirement = my UPS will last longer too.

Actually I'd be willing to do that. Any recommendations on a NVR-style case/power supply/motherboard combo that would be ideal for Blue Iris? I would like to plug it into a closet, headless, and not have it heat up to dangerous levels.

To be fair, I hadn't tried it, but here's a screenshot of my CPU before and after switching just one camera to the main stream. I don't know details of how BI handles cameras internally but I imagine that it has to deal with 307,200 pixels for a 640x480 frame and 4,085,760 pixels for a 2688x1520...

Just wanted to update. Haven't had any problems with the Hikvision NVR. It's being used to record at HD 24/7 and then sending the substream video to Blue Iris. For all remote viewing, Blue Iris Android/iPhone/Web is working out fine (although it's not entirely touch free 100% of the time like I...

Here's the dome camera. Looks OK with the nightvision off. Otherwise it's a blurry mess. I bought a birdhouse and mounted it to the old basketball goal in my front yard (this is not a utility pole FYI): http://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6zc2g8735JKYzV4dHhreXQ5ODQ/view?usp=sharing...

Ah that must be right. I might have been thinking Synology or XProtect (Actually I think both of them support automatic retrieval). Surprised Hikvision doesn't support it if their cameras have it built in. I didn't buy SD cards for the cameras anyhow. I'm not running an airport lol

    1. Agreed. 2. Yes but the Hikvision will piece the video back together automatically when the camera is reconnected. I was referring to whether Blue Iris does this yet or not, since I think this is an ONVIF standard, so if they added the support it would be across the boards for brands which...

The NVR showed up today. Red/white box. It is region code "RR" - other unspecified. I noticed in the web interface menus there was a license plate detection option, but the United States does not show up as an available country for the format. Just an example. A little disappointed that it's not...

Yes and yes. I selected the direct to disk option. Even with the resolution bumped up to 640x480 at 10 fps with mjpeg stream, it's still using way less than ispy. The app was $10, assuming I downloaded the right one.

I installed Blue Iris. Looks like I won't be needing iSpy anymore. I'm pretty happy with the fact Blue Iris will run as a Windows service. It's also a lot lighter on CPU even with a remote web client and remote tablet viewing at the same time. I'm just using it for little 320x240 webcams I have...

OK I got curious and fired up the dome camera. It is a WR (world/multilanguage) as shown in the configuration screen. The S/N on the box has only #s showing. Is this acceptable?

There is no CH in the serial number. Might help others to see an example of one. On one of the boxes, the seller put a sticker partially occluding the factory serial # but it was easily pealed back.

The cameras arrived today. One was purchased from Amazon seller "CCTV security Camera". The other came from a seller called "HIKUSA". I have been going through piles of hikvision cameras and NVRs on Amazon, and seeing a lot of reviews mentioning the Chinese versions of their products. It's hard to tell the difference which suppliers are US vs Chinese, or if it really makes a difference for that matter. Just don't want to order...
