    Battery Backup

They didn’t exist. The last files were not there when I restored power. I’m using Blue Iris BVR for file format. Direct to Disc Video Compression.

    Battery Backup

Ok, so here is why I have the battery backup. We had someone try to break in, they disconnected our power at the meter. When the power shut off, we lost the footage that was recording. So we didn’t have footage of them coming in the parking lot. I was hoping the battery backup, would give the...

CPU usage spikes when using remote view

Also. I disabled 7 of my cameras and the system is running great. I assume one of the cameras is causing the system to go haywire.

CPU usage spikes when using remote view

Thanks! I have no idea why that’s enabled. I’ll look to see how to turn it off. I currently have 16gb of DDR4-3000 ram. Fenderman suggested I get more, so I was gonna get 16gb of the same stuff for a total of 32. I’m not sure what the pre allocate a page is about.

CPU usage spikes when using remote view

Ok. Made the change, split the load amongst the three hard drives. System cpu is still skyrocketing to 100%.

CPU usage spikes when using remote view

Ok. I’m currently recording directly to the solid state OS drive, then sending to a WD Purple. Is it ok to go direct to the WD Purple and cut out a step? I have three8tb WD Purple drives. I’ll split the cameras between them tomorrow. The ram seems to hover 8-12gb usage. I have 16gb total...

CPU usage spikes when using remote view

My concern is being able to freeze frame people and get a good image. With lower FPS it seems like it would be blurry. Or am I wrong?

CPU usage spikes when using remote view

Yep! That helped. It still hits 100% usage when viewing remotely, but it goes back to normal once I stop. Any other suggestions for settings, performance, etc? Do you think having 25-30 cameras at 4K/ 15fps and 2K/ 30fps is too much?

CPU usage spikes when using remote view

Then I’ll bump up to 4K @15fps. But that’s the same processing. Again, due to the nature of my business and the movements I want to capture I was hoping to maintain the quality. Is that not possible? Am I overloading the computer?

CPU usage spikes when using remote view

This is correct. I am using limit decoding. Should I not? I have 25 Lorex 4K Cameras. Most are running at 2K/30fps. The rest are 4K 15fps. I have an at risk business and would like to retain the quality.

Couple of Blue Iris/ Viewing questions

Thank you, figured out moving the cameras around. Confirming there is no wireless solution to send the image to multiple monitors? Thanks

Couple of Blue Iris/ Viewing questions

I am currently running Blue Iris successfully. I have 22 4K Lorex Cams. The PC is handling it all with no issues. It stays around 34% CPU usage. I have a couple of different questions. When viewing the different cams in Blue Iris, can I move them around? The order they are in appear to be...

    Lorex NVR to PC

I purchased the newest Lorex 4K system late last year. I have 22 4K cameras running. The NVR has been very buggy and just doesn’t work well. I’ve spent countless hours on tech support with their company and no help. I would like to switch to a PC Based system but still use the lorex cameras...
