    I am in the happy circumstanc that I have a legal option to download and use windows 7 till windows 10. I hope to start the bi server after a power outage. This would be the reason to run it as a service. What would be the downside to run is as a service?

    Yes I did. It is dedicated for only this job. I did run bi on the same hardware with other programs aside. Without troubles. I have attached 8 cameras (non HD). I hope this will do the job. What is the most limiting factor in this setup? Processor?

    I have just bought a optiplex 790 with 8gb memory and 500gb disc. I can install windows 7, 8 or 10. Which is preferable? And I am reading about uac and autostart bi. But why not run it as a service?
