IR stopped working but I can still see it on?

Hmm.. I rebooted the device through the main settings page now instead of BI and it fixed it...what's going on? I guess restarting device through BI isn't a hard reset rather than a soft one? Is my camera crapping out on me or is this normal? I'll admit I had a power fluctuation the other day...

IR stopped working but I can still see it on?

My DS-2CD2T42WD-I5 suddenly went dark on me in blue iris. I can still see a little bit of details but i'm almost certain the IR stopped working because it was fine all day until the sun began to set yet I can still see both red "snake eyes" on when I go out and look at it. I've tried power...

Narrowing down on the best PTZ dome camera for my application.

I already read the first 2 but the bottom 2 links I had not thank you looney2ns! How do I rotate the camera in the IPVM camera calculator? I got stuck at that point.

If that's the case then which "turret style" model would you recommend as an alternative option to consider? Again I sincerely appreciate your assistance.

Narrowing down on the best PTZ dome camera for my application.

Are the dome pieces itself not replaceable? I had not considered a cage and if it happens that would be my next move. I'm in a gentrifying neighborhood but nearby is dope town and crime happens here regularly. It was my understanding that I should cover as many surveillance requirements as...

Narrowing down on the best PTZ dome camera for my application.

I know I have big problems, i.e. why I'm installing more cameras and I'm fully aware of the spray paint trick but unlike rock throwing those methods require coming up to the camera which could help in identification even if they're masked. I'm about to install something almost a thousand dollars...

Narrowing down on the best PTZ dome camera for my application.

I agree that most 2MP PTZ's with sufficient zoom would be sufficient. From what I was told by A1SecurityCameras a "turret style" lens is exposed and would suffer direct damage from rocks being thrown for example. From my own research I noticed these "turret styles" are not vandal rated. How is...

Narrowing down on the best PTZ dome camera for my application.

I plan on adding a second PTZ facing the other direction on the opposite corner of the building. I only need 2, one facing each direction. Aside from when i'm manning it, it will stay fixed at the door and street. It's a single one way street so I only need to see each direction. The second may...

Narrowing down on the best PTZ dome camera for my application.

It's for a commercial installation for my club and yes I will be manning it. When I'm not manning it, it will be fixed to the front door and react to line crossing detection etc. The additional benefit is the ability to pan and catch plates at the nearby stop sign behind it if needed and to let...

Narrowing down on the best PTZ dome camera for my application.

I was actually planning to take advantage of their 25% sale on it too but you have to have an account to buy directly from them so I gave up. As far as I know they don't sell directly to consumers at LTSSecurityInc dot com. I was unaware that it has no IR, that's a big deal so thank you for the...

Narrowing down on the best PTZ dome camera for my application.

So I stopped looking at bullets because they aren't really designed for PTZ which I discovered is what I really need. I avoided turrets because they aren't vandal rated and because the sun will be hitting the camera directly from the left which shouldn't be too problematic after WDR...

Does Philadelphia / PA require security system installers to be licensed?

I think i'd only ever be able to afford an IPVM membership if I were in the business lol. I'm already certain it's not required here on the state level but i'm not sure about Philadelphia itself. I just want to be sure in case I choose to hire them in the future.

Does Philadelphia / PA require security system installers to be licensed?

A local company is telling me there is no licensing required for installers here and I can't seem to find anything online to verify that he's right or wrong. Only this really old article about an attempt to do so: Philly eyes installer licensing | Security Systems News I know permits are...

Blue Iris motion detection suddenly not working at night!

I'm getting 20fps. I thought it was a setting too but when I reinstalled I imported all my old settings and it still worked fine. At a make time of 1.0 my movement in front of the camera does not trigger alert but I can see I am being tracked even with arms waving. Hotspot will still trigger an...

Blue Iris motion detection suddenly not working at night!

Hey so I updated, did a fresh uninstall and reinstall and everything is back to normal. The improvements are major as you said but it is still really weird that it failed before. I've had to set the make time really low to 0.3 to register movement as an alert. The zone has no foot traffic but at...

Blue Iris motion detection suddenly not working at night!

Only one camera and traffic light is green. Triggering an alert manually works and test notification to device does as well. Also under the alerts section motion is checked on for when the camera is triggered.

Blue Iris motion detection suddenly not working at night!

I will do so for sure but is there anything else I can do in the meantime. I mean literally nothing will activate even at the most sensitive settings. I usually only get false alarms at sunrise and sunset which I haven't figured out how to resolve but hot spot works great in the day time.

Because there was no need to since everything was working perfect. Are you saying that this is the cause of the problem?

Blue Iris motion detection suddenly not working at night!

So my Hikvision DS-2CD2T42WD-I5 & Blue Iris has been working great then this morning an intruder trespassed and went right under the camera out of view, did something for 5m and then left. The camera triggered fine but I didn't notice it until the evening so I went out at night to see if there...
