    accelerated playback freeze

I brought up a better systems monitor and looks like maybe the cpu is hitting 100% freezing up the video for a split second and then dropping back to 60% and the task manager wasn't catching this. The Dahua is recording at 1920 x 1080 at 6fps and the foscam at 1920 x 1080 15fps, yet the foscam...

    accelerated playback freeze

Ok so I unchecked the bvr option. Should that change playback on previous videos, or just going forward? Just checking as the previous videos still freeze up. I will have to give a bit to record new to test.

    Upgrading/Replacing Cameras in Laundramat

Thanks. The one capturing vehicles in the driveway (it's like a ~300ft long drive from the highway) will be exclusively for that, zoomed in on the speed bump in the drive where they should be their slowest. So I plan to put an over head light there or I think better, a spot or flood light...

    Upgrading/Replacing Cameras in Laundramat

So some time back I got advice for installing in a laundromat. I bought a Dahua HDW4231EM-AS based on the recommendations I received. So I'm back for more opinions / advice. I don't know anything about this so correct any of my mistaken thoughts. I really like the wide angle in comparison to...

    accelerated playback freeze

The task manager never showed the cpu pinging out, was showing 60% when sped up. Normal recording it's at 30% I think. This is a 2mp camera, unfortunately I don't have the model numbers of the other cameras on me to compare the video size, but they work fine in fast forward. When I get back to...

    accelerated playback freeze

I have several cameras, most are old foscam and these seem to work fine in speeding up playback. I have a Dahua HDW4231EM-AS recording at 6fps. When I accelerate past maybe 8x the video starts slowing, skipping, then freezes up but the slider keeps moving. I had used find/inspect on setup and...

I need help with installation- Houston, TX area - I will pay

Yeah I looked at the regulations in Texas to legally install for somebody else you have to have licensing from the state in alarm system installation. Even if it's not set up as an alarm at all. Or at least how I interpreted the law. Then local codes may require the low voltage certified.

Home set up advice using Foscam

I had started with foscam a few years ago and was hit or miss on how long they lasted before they died. I have 1 outdoor still running reliably out of four or five but the picture is all fuzzy hazy now. On the Indoor I have two that run but their light sensor broke and would never change to...

Ah dug in deeper, looks like television camera or still camera system that: (i) records or archives images of property or individuals in a public or private area of a residence or business; or Falls under alarm company.

We don't have any local businesses that do this sorry of thing. We're just a small country town. A lot of the stuff that gets done like this is volunteer work and someone's materials donation on top of it. I tried digging into Texas law but can't find anything past the security license thing...

Thanks and thanks. I'd just assumed, out didn't say it did or not so just thought I'd check. I'd read some states have low voltage licensing, weird. There was also having to have security license but sounded like if only the system was to be monitored by a person or set up to an alarm system...

I have signs up about recording taking place and the cameras are obvious. I just mean licencing for installation. All my previous cameras came with power supplies so never had to purchase them, they don't do poe anyway I don't think. But yeah at installation I put money into electrical wire...

Thanks, I'd never heard of that brand and was looking at the beans I've long been familiar with. At that price I'd look to pick it up for another project. True on getting to the plugs. Mine are either through walls or tucked into the channel of the steel I beam frame of the building. I'm 6 ft...

Looks like a lot of the switches only run 4 poe ports where I have 8 cameras in there.

The camera I replaced had electricity at the camera out of sight and reach, all the one's currently set up too. If they can unplug the power from the camera then they can unplug the Ethernet from the camera. In future installations I"ll look to do that though. I've been trying to find laws and...

I don't have a poe switch. It may have been worth the extra investment but I'd bought a 8-port gigabit netgear prosafe switch on a post Christmas sale for something like $10? I'm using blue iris on a remote pc so don't have the nvr hookup. My installation is a mess but since no one else sees...

I ended up ordering the IPC-HDW4231EM-AS from Empire instead. I don't think I received a power supply with it, not sure if that is normal or not so I put in a message to them. I assumed by model name it was the same internals as the one you listed but in different form that was more convenient...

Oh interesting, good to know. I thought the video would end up being sideways. Which model do you recommend for indoors laundromat that's 20'x30', always have lights on, wide angle as possible for coverage. Thank you

It's installable but I think I would need to make a bracket coming out from the wall. I cant' mount to the ceiling and need the camera to be looking at a ~45 degree angle from the wall it is on. Either way, what is the best model to go with now around the $100 mark? I'm not sure what letters...

Are the turrets better than the bullets? I'm not able to attach to the ceiling as there are drop lights that would block a lot of vision and I need angles to the mounting walls that I think would tilt the image.

I'll see if I can find the right ones. Probably so, I need to move to an Intel skylake for the acceleration it provides

Thanks I read through that thread and eventually will buy one for the outdoors and possibly the shop. For indoors on the laundrymat though, the low light / night vision is completely wasted as there are always lights on. Anything around $100 mark?

When I first set up my system years ago, I went with some foscam ip cameras and blue iris. I have one of my indoor ptz now die and needs replaced, I have had issues with them resetting their position. I don't know if this is a foscam issue, power issue or what. So I am thinking maybe a fixed...
