Its all POE, direct the server. No wifi
I thought iframe was to be double the frame rate!? Everyone seems to have a different view
Why VBR? Its on a gigabit LAN
Hi Gents,
Getting this a bit with people moving
H264, 15FPS, Direct to Disk, 4096 Bit rate, 30 Iframe.
Running 8 cameras on a i8 8100, 8GB Ram, SSD. CPU is around 20%
Any suggestions?
Thankyou
totally borked my system. Rolled back to V4 and cant even start V4 now, no errors nada. Glad I had a system restore point to go back to. All the profiles were broken, and http commands were failing using my old HTTP commands.
What a major fail from BI seriously.
Thanks guys, ive got the i3 8100 in. Its running higher CPU than i'd expect, 4 cameras only so far around 20%.
Ive had a raft of issues with drivers, ghosting motion etc
I tried the ones on the page here, and found one that gives me the 20-30% CPU but the rest make it run alot higher...
thanks bp2008, I absolutely want to do hardware decoding. Good to know. What sort of cpu do you think I could drop to? With enough headroom to use 12 cameras, if ever needed?
Hi all, considering an 8th Gen i3-8100 for 8 cameras @ 2Megapixel, 15FPS. Direct to Disk. Any concerns? it seems there are drivers without leaking issues I can use. Given its for a customer, im a little worried there may be performance issues/leak issues. Hoping someone can put my mind at rest...
Hi All
I need a method to allow this because I'm unable to encode a username and password into the HTTP string to view a substream. I have a home automation server which uses the http substream feeds (MJPG) but trying to avoid having to put usernames and passwords into each camera.
I have a...
Hi All
I created a cert, downloaded it and installed it but it says the connection is still insecure.
Read through the manual and cant work out what im doing any wrong?
Any suggestions? I want HTTP removed entirely
Thanks!
So... I could just have
Switch ----> Netgear PowerLine Adapter <----> Netgear Powerline Adapter <---> 12V PoE Injector <---> Dahua 5231R
This would work, right?
fenderman, so if I use EoP bridges that would work just fine with a 5231? It would mean I need a powerline adapter AND POE injector or if I have a POE Switch and plug it straight into a powerline adapter, will the POE be transmitted across the powerline adapter OK?
Hi All,
I need something with wifi im afraid, this is not for me personally but Ive got a friend who has an apartment that doesnt lean to hard wiring. Not ideal but ive no real choice
Any anyone suggest something good for low light, ideally PTZ.
This is all I can find
2MP 4x WiFi PTZ – Dahua...
You're wrong. The poster specifically said 'can i run blue iris on a qnap nas' - well, fact is you can. And it works just fine. The poster made no mention of the model of QNAP he's using. Almost all the QNAPs, old and new can run virtualisation station.
You can argue all you like fenderman.
No its not, its a standard QNAP nas. Theres nothing special about it at all. I paid $650 Aud, it's hardly overpriced and came with 8 x 2TB WD Pro disks. Seems quite good value in my book!
I use the 10 cameras, Dahua 5231R set to 15FPS, motion recording all the time. I limit decoding, yes...
I run BlueIris just fine on my QNAP 880U NAS under a Windows 10 VM. I upgraded the NAS with 32GB ram and 2 x SSD drives that run from the M2 sata slots.
It runs just fine with 10 PoE cameras and sits around 15% idle, up to about 50% cpu on occasion.
The NAS also runs a Win 7 VM for a Desktop...
Hi All
I currently run BI on a VM on a Qnap Xeon based NAS on M2 SATA SSD flash drives for the OS. It runs very well, with storage on a RAID6.
Can anyone tell me if they have experienced less cpu usage and an overall performance increase by running on nVME drives based off PCIe vs SATA SSD...
Hi All
Does anyone know if its possible to capture plates in a resonably well lite lane at night? if so, can anyone suggest some Night time settings I could try?
Thank you
Yes, that's exactly what I was doing.
So rather than set the camera profile individually, I would use this HTTP command, once:
/admin?profile=x&lock=y (Away or At Home) with Lock being 0 for RUN
Im not changing profiles via BlueIris, im doing it from a third party system.
So, some cameras need to have profiles set, whilst others ill leave as they are.
Sounds like I need a Profile for 'At Home' and 'Away".
All Motion/Alerts ON for AWAY. Motion only on selected cams for 'At Home'
I can then turn the profile on/off based off Openhab presence and time of day detection using a httpGetRequest so I assume that I don't need the schedule at all...
