    Running wires to NVR

Option one is fine imo. Hundreds of installs and I still prefer option one unless an install calls for option 2 for specific reasons/client requested. I prefer and usually install a wall cabinet or network rack with a patch panel etc... so really option one still is the choice just opening...

Finished my CCTV install on my new house today.

Very nice, I noticed that PTZ is indoor rated lacking an IP (Ingress Protection) rating from dahua in their data sheet. I hear other members aren't having any issues mounted under eaves/soffits though so that's good. Looks great and sometimes you can't stick that door cam in the perfect spot...

New Construction. Pull through Brick or install junction box?

Me? Yes, that's standard around here. Sorry, wasn't sure who you were replying to. (Both my brick photos were from Google. Only the interior with orange tubing is actually my photos)

New Construction. Pull through Brick or install junction box?

Of course, prevents flex of the box like I posted. Here's a better example... the above is just what I saw first on Google.

New Construction. Pull through Brick or install junction box?

Several clients had their builders install boxes for us before bricking. They just bricked around it. Seems to have worked great... Mounted our equipment and has a nice box to tuck the ip connection into. This isnt my picture but it looked similar.... Kept it nice and small without being too...

    New Dahua install

So is the red flex piping under that top layer of concrete an open void? Like crawling space or was it filled in too? Always interesting to see other countries construction ways. Those red tubes we call Smurf Tubes here because ours normally run Blue. But sometimes orange like this one where we...

Calculating cameras bandwidth for blueiris and CPU

Gas stations and other indoor commercial clients that have 24hr led lighting benefit from the 4k because they never switch to IR... But thank you for the concern. I'll look over the links, which I've read the first two before. Thanks! I agree 100% but as my dad told me " I don't care about the...

Calculating cameras bandwidth for blueiris and CPU

Hey guys, So I've been installing cctv for a couple of years now with a licensed company. Pretty simple stuff, we buy from our distributor and it's just a solid working system. Appear to be rebranded hik/dahua but who's arent... We regularly install 4k cameras and nvr's now. Saying that because...

Found this spaghetti... Luckily I recently returned to find the new IT team overhauling the entire room. So much so that the wall will be turned into a window showing off the businesses server room.

What dash cam are you using?

Yeah it's the thing I hate about dual cam systems. Gotta really pay to get a good one. Oh well, I'll stick with the front facing ones.

    Question for you Pros

Yes for each tv will be a small box that the Ethernet Cable (Cat5e) plugs into which converts the signal to an HDMI cable and into the tv. You could use something like this. I just found the first example so don't get picky on brand or price...

    Question for you Pros

If it's a close split, a regular hdmi splitter is fine even for 4 tvs. Multiple locations/long distances? HDMI Over Cat5e system every single time. IE, just this week we ran low volt in a 6,000 sq ft prewire.(House is framed, but not finished) One of the things the client wanted was to see his...

You replied as I was deleting it. No, I hadn't since I just started reading the forum and it didn't take long for me to figure out to just leave what works alone, thus causing me to delete the post. But thanks.

    Blue Iris Video Tutorials

Just another way to review footage, I've always just picked the day, then the camera and the time. Ive never turned off anything camera or system wise and didn't know if there was a reason for it aside from freeing up cpu. Also you can drag the green and red sliders when selecting a scene for...

What dash cam are you using?

I went through a few G1W's and versions over the last 5 years and recently picked up a Anker Roav Dash Cam C1 and I like it. The Lock feature records 15 sec before pressing it and 15 seconds after so I don't have to lock the entire file. Which I personally like. I'd like to upgrade to a dual...
