    Recording clips to NAS

Starting with @TonyR 's fundamental question: are you running BI as a service? if not... and apologies if I am not understanding your question. You have the NAS drive mounted (mapped) but it does not show up in 1, 2, or 3?... Or am I completely confused?:

    switch recommendations

Before I found this forum I managed to buy two crappy POE switches that failed fairly quickly. I took @The Automation Guy 's advice and bought a Brocade ICX-6450 (24 ports) from Ebay. Mine was actually brand new, so I paid a premium for it: $250. You could argue that it is overkill for home...

    5.7.9.3 breaks CodeProject AI integration

I am so stupid sometimes. I had finally gotten 2.1.9 working and noticed the BI upgrade and absentmindedly clicked upgrade... can confirm 2.1.9 not working with 5.7.9.3.

Ooops! Not Expecting that framing - help please!

Thanks! Yep, that part looks a little horsey, but for whatever reason there is a 2x6 running the entire width of the garage and it is fastened to that beam with many of those "Simpson" galvanized angle brackets. I tried drilling through the 2x6 from the bottom, but hit one of those damn metal...

Ooops! Not Expecting that framing - help please!

The situation above that beam was way more complicated than I thought - I tried to screw up, but I just kept hearing @TonyR 's voice in my head: "Cut your losses" Thanks again, everyone!

Ooops! Not Expecting that framing - help please!

One of those "this will only take a few minutes" job has now turned into a time-consuming head scratcher. I planned a camera location for above the middle of garage door opening, but the framing has got me confused. After drilling the hole from the outside for the bracket I stuck an endoscope in...

Solutions to Mount PoE Cam to 1 Gang Box

Congratulations, lovely new home! ...that is why this seems like the better solution. But in the bigger picture I might suggest that the tail is wagging the dog here. I realize the responses are to solve a specific problem, but please consider as others have mentioned that four cameras...

Ladder Review: Werner Multi Max Pro

Over the last few years of installing cameras one of the tools that I really wanted was a decent quality ladder. Back in March a local Home Depot had a huge shipment of Werner Multi Max Pro 20' ladders priced at $179, (now $219 ) so I thought about it and bought one...

How a pro runs wire without access

Here's how NOT a pro does things! I've been telling my wife for two years: "I'm gonna fix that this weekend" But it has grown on my, you know, almost like a piece of art hanging on the wall. :wtf:

    Method to remove Code Project

So your Settings--> AI tab looks something like this?: hmmmm... if you click on Open AI dashboard a web browser starts and with the CPAI interface it means it is still installed - or Blue Iris thinks it is still installed. Apologies if this is a dumb question, but did you reboot? I ask...

Review-IP Villa Outdoor Doorbell Station & Indoor Monitor Kit

Sorry you are having these issues. A few suggestions: The Dahua ConfigTool can help with some of the operations. Something of a Catch-22, I realize, since you need the password for some operations. One last resort is to figure out which firmware is appropriate for your devices and use the...

Code project AI no longer triggering alerts

Well, I finally got it working with 2.1.9... I did not "do" anything. I removed 2.0.8 and installed 2.1.9, again, as usual, and it was not working. So, I decided to remove it and revert back to 2.0.8. Under the Windows Add/Remove system settings I selected CPAI to remove, but instead of removing...

    FTP Not Working

One of my day jobs is writing C# code for automated FTP (meaning SFTP and FTPS) delivery of data. We use a comprehensive .NET library called Rebex: https://www.rebex.net/sample/ If you download their trial, you will find sample programs (in this case an FTPS sample program) that provide the...

How do you seal an unused 12V Connector on the camera?

I don't want to sound dumber than usual, but I just cut all those power, audio in, audio out, etc cables off and put shrink tubing over the ends of each of them.

    VTO2301R-P AUDIO FEEDBACK ISSUES

You are hearing audio feedback, which means you are hearing it from some output. So which output is that? Is the feedback heard on the VTO/doorbell's speaker, a VTH speaker, Blue Iris (computer speaker), NVR speaker, phone app? Is this VTO connected via (UTP and POE) OR (WiFi and DC power...

    Name that camera...

When you get sucked down the vortex of this site - meaning when you replace that camera and get Blue Iris running... :) see if you can use the coax cable to pull the UTP (Cat5e, Cat6) for the replacement IP camera. In other words, someone went to the trouble of running the coax, so take...

    Cuban Classic Cars

I'm impressed with that work truck still getting it done! From that wavy front grill, guessing that it is a late 1940's - 1950's Chevy commercial truck? Audio clearer on Dahua IP Cameras

My experience has been that the noise filter setting makes some difference with specific cameras, depending on their location and how high they are mounted - which I realize is so obvious to be essentially useless advice. But I get a lot of wind noise too. The microphone that works best in my...
