Looking for Dahua startlight with wifi

Skip SD1A203T-GN-W. WDR on it does not work. Kind of a problem and not the only one with that problem.

SD1A203T-GN-W WDR is not turning on even after resets

I have firmware 2.623.0000000.7.R.R4.383 (Build Date: 2018-11-24) on my SD1A203T-GN-W. I have reset to defaults everything under Conditions and tried to turn WDR on. Unfortunately, while it saves and says WDR is on, the setting has zero effect on the image. Anyone had this problem and sorted it...

Sentry Smart Alerts is too expensive for me

I have built multiple software companies, so I know a thing or two what it costs to get the product out to the market. OP, I want to come to your job and tell you that you are severely overpaid because I lack even the slightest understanding of what your job entails. If you can't afford $50 per...

Impossible to make changes to camera settings with 3840X2160 laptop screen and IE

I am having a terrible time with changing settings for my Dahua cameras. Plugin in IE places video image over the settings I use Dell XPS 15" laptop with 3840X2160 screen. To change settings I have to change my monitor resolution below 1080 pixels in vertical Any solutions to this problem...

Optimal system for 4X 2MP BI cam setup?

Right now I have 4 cameras from my vacation place streaming to my house where I am handling another 12 on the BI setup. I would like to split off the 4 cams and run them locally. What would be the optimal setup for it? I've had great success with refurb Dell Optiplex for my home and office, but...

NVR5216-16P-4KS2 vs 7th gen i5 with BI for 12 starlights?

Dell Refurb section (I was told to avoid Inspiron and only look at biz section for Optiplex) tends to have good deals too.

NVR5216-16P-4KS2 vs 7th gen i5 with BI for 12 starlights?

I am looking to setup whole system for my mother's place. If I eventually plan to expand to 12 starlight cams, considering about $200-$300 price difference for PC (being more expensive), is it really worth going the PC route, or NVR5216-16P-4KS2 is a better choice?

    Budget outdoor Starlight PTZ?

And that is exactly the problem. There is too much. A lot of threads are for $900+ PTZs. I am not looking to spend that. Also, prices and camera selection is changing very fast. Hence separate thread. Not everyone needs to be reminded to search, bud. P.S. Yes, I have several of those Huisun...

    Budget outdoor Starlight PTZ?

I killed my Dahua older PTZ. So time for me to replace it with something else. What is the camera to get now?

Can't find newer firmware for DH-SD29204S-GN

So the DH-SD29204S-GN I have won't let me enable WDR no matter what I try. Also, it won't allow passwords with special characters. Firmware is old from 2015. Is there newer firmware for it somewhere? I tried on the Dahua site, but it only has it for the T version, not the S version. Current...

IPC-HFW4431R-Z still the best varifocal for under $100?

Hey man, I respect you own the forum, but c'mon now, let's stay classy here

IPC-HFW4431R-Z still the best varifocal for under $100?

You know it would be nice if we did not go into personal insults here (especially coming from "Staff Member"). Not like we are arguing about life changing things. Community management is a tough job requiring tact and diplomacy. If you feel someone is deliberately misleading the community, warn...

IPC-HFW4431R-Z still the best varifocal for under $100?

It would be so nice that in the sticky list of Dahua starlight and other cams there were prices right next to each model.

IPC-HFW4431R-Z still the best varifocal for under $100?

I have superinsulated my house. Drilling 12"-20" through multiple layers of insulation, then redoing airsealing etc. is not my cup of tea. Really wish there was in between option. I love being on these forums, but seems like most suggestions end up focusing just on one camera and on "the best"...

IPC-HFW4431R-Z still the best varifocal for under $100?

Here is the problem with those very nice cameras: I have to buy mounts for them and when 2+ units will come DHL, there will be customers taxes. So you end up with $200+ per camera.

IPC-HFW4431R-Z still the best varifocal for under $100?

Simple answer: varifocal gets me the right FOV. 1. Vari I can dial in my FOV just right on every cam. 2. As I upgrade cams, I can move a cam to a different location and I can always get FOV right.

IPC-HFW4431R-Z still the best varifocal for under $100?

Well then my standards may be low. What can I get for under $100 with at least decent night performance and varifocal? To be fair though, I have perimeter lights all around the house, so there aren't truly any dark dark spots.

IPC-HFW4431R-Z still the best varifocal for under $100?

I am using BI, so isn't much of a concern re. NVR. Firmware... I don't have any complaints yet. Price with great night performance is why I like this cam. But I will buy something if it is better varifocal and fits my budget.

IPC-HFW4431R-Z still the best varifocal for under $100?

Time for me to replace several 2.8mm and 4MM fixed cams with varifocals. I need like 3 of them, so starlight ones are out of budget. Is IPC-HFW4431R-Z still the one to go with? I have one in my "collection" and it is my fav varifocal I own.

Which 4MM 2MP+ with great IR performance?

Turrets seem to be sold out, but I prefer bullets/boxes more, since those often have little "hat" to keep snow/rain off the lense. Any in particular I should try out?
  23. agurkas

Which 4MM 2MP+ with great IR performance?

Ideally I would have a PTZ with PIR motion inputs wired in right there. Point the PTZ directly to the driveway entry (West) and then have motion sensors trigger it to turn either North or South... but probably Starlight is cheaper. Problem we have is in my area postman just leaves packages on...

Which 4MM 2MP+ with great IR performance?

Bit pricey when I want to replace 3 cameras on my "surveillance tree". We have had some vandalism by bored teens in the neighborhood, so deterrent factor no longer good enough. Need to have something for our cops to use as evidence.
  25. agurkas

Which 4MM 2MP+ with great IR performance?

That is pricey for what I need. Plus those would be mounted on poles, which means no cover for snow etc. IR just needs to not hotspot out the faces. Couple LTS Security ones I have now just do too poorly even after I have tweaked settings a bit (doesn't help those are domes). Area I need to...

Which 4MM 2MP+ with great IR performance?

Gettting overwhelmed with selection. I need couple 4MM 2MP or higher cams. Good IR is most important. Anything in Dahuas under $80 per?

Good outdoor enclosure dome for blackface Dahua PTZ?

nayr, appreciate how helpful you have been in other threads. So thanks! So here is my conundrum: because I have this narrow 1 acre property, I either need to put three varifocal turrets (because I am just not finding 3-4MP 8mm and 12mm), or go with maybe a good PTZ with IR. Turrets possibly...

Is PTZ with tracking right for my very wide but narrow front yard?

I don't recall SD29204S-GN having alarm inputs (at least I am not seeing them from the config page). I am also running BI. Probably not a good setup for PIRs

Good outdoor enclosure dome for blackface Dahua PTZ?

All these options I see for PTZs and I am just not seeing why I should spend $500+ when I can do $150 blackface PTZ + couple IR illuminators (would be nice to find curved oned that can do 120 or 180 degrees) + outdoor enclosure dome. Question: one enclosure I bought before is not longer...
