V5.3.6 problems?
Naturally you would want to revert back to your previous fw if you think thats the issue and if possible, I never mess with fw upgrades for these reasons, but someone else with more experience on this can chime in. -

Mini PTZ: Motion detection too sensitive
Constant alerts all day long, had to limit the detection area to a box or two and totally disabled on most cams. 1 will get no alerts at all, and 2 will give the same alerts as a 6, nothing in between. I can walk across a trigger point with a sensitivity set to 1 and will get no trigger at all. -

I would imagine you had 5.3.3 and should be safe, but please double check. Did the quality deter in both day and night or only one of? -

One of the release notes for this fw state "optimization to the image quality". Not sure if your model uses the same sensor as my 4mp none WDR turret, but I thought the day images looked great on this cam so I'm guessing it was some night viewing enhancement, it may appear worse but perhaps... -

100% theres an issue with this for me, running V5.3.3 build 150514. Looks like they need to calibrate this in their fw a little bit. -

The 4mp Hiks suffer from the same. 1 for me would give no alerts, and 2 behaves as if its on 6. Theres no middle grounds going from 1 to 2. Also seen little difference between 2 and 6. -

I don't think "Do you want to order now" with every message is a sign of barriers or misinterpretation, Nevertheless, it don't hurt to respectively call them out on it. They're catering to the US market by choice and for good reasons, so I don't think we should take up Chinese, at least not yet. -

I think their sales rep or lack of is the root cause to these negative sentiments any technical questions are followed by, "so do you want to order now" nothing worse then a pushy sales rep and they only have one. Hopefully they get a customer service upgrade with their release of v2. -

I think eventually as higher pixels are more in demand, a full frame sensor will be the inevitable, I don't think any of us will see it at the pace they're going though, at least fairly priced. The technology seems to be in defiance with Moores Law.- NVR

That was a quick snapshot the day I had everything out, agree with you, but when testing, one should be zooming in or cropping until there's notable difference, or distance the cameras far enough until pixelation starts. I don't think the method used offers enough info to conclude that there is no difference between a 3mp and a 4mp. But I still think we should have seen some differences in your images among different resolutions, which we dont and not sure why. Maybe not enough distance to see a difference, not...- NVR

Put it this way, people from 10 feet away look like walking trees. No facial details whatsoever, not even a descent silhouette. The stills can easily fool you as they look great, once motion and distance is added and the subject is very distorted. I must have played with every setting for hours...
