BI Android App - Cannot reboot or restart camera

I am out of town and one of my cameras has quit. I would like to try a Restart or Reboot from within the app Settings page but when I click on these choices it does nothing. I have also tried to Restart cameras that are working properly but still get no reaction. All of my other app functions...

    Record to network share

Fenderman: It's all working great now. I set all of my original cameras back to an Internal drive. Then I cloned them all. Then, from within each cloned camera's RECORD settings, I pointed the camera to the NAS with a folder called \blueiris\new (for clips) and another called \blueiris\alerts...

    Record to network share

Fenderman: I have cloned all of my cameras for the purpose of having them record separately to an internal drive (rather than the only NAS as you suggested above) but I can't figure out how to point them to the internal drive. Also, sorry for the rehash of the comments that had been previously...

I just ran BI's "Repair/Regenerate" database and now I see my clips listed on the right side of the UI but when I click on one to play it I get this; Sorry, the file could not be found.

I am just running the included Windows Defender. The help folder does state the following: "If you are Running blue Iris as a service you may not be able to use the local system account if your stored clips folder is located on a network drive, instead you must use a named user account and give...

I'll give that a try thank. It's odd that I can access everything from a browser or phone app but not the PC itself. I'll post my results.

At the moment the clips are being saved to a folder on the NAS that is simply called "blueiris". Could it be that the folder has to have a different name or folder within that would identify it uniquely to the PC?

It looks like I still have one small issue with my NAS setup: The NAS is now storing my clips just fine. I am able to view them via my Android App as well a PC or MAC browser (I love this feature and just started using it very recently!). However, I am no longer able to view my clips or alerts...

At one point I did select something relating to jpegs with the idea that I could have them sent to my cloud or whatever. I'll have to clean that up. Glad to hear that the cloned cameras won't melt my PC. Also, good tip to hide them. I might not have thought of that right away. I really...

Fenderman: That very last tip from "Micropone" that you kindly directed me to worked for me! I have attached a screen shot below of what I did in the Clips and Archiving window. He included the word "public" in his line but since I did not understand why I tried it both with and without...

    Record to network share

Thank you for your offer to help. I have retraced all of my steps. This should be simple enough: I have a new user account on my NAS with a simple user name & password with admin rights. I have created a new account on Win 10 with that very same user name & password also with admin rights. I...

When i click the ... I see some desktop icons and one icon for 'Network'. If I click the network icon I get the blue wheel spinning for a few second but then nothing. I don't see an other choices other than to possibly enter something manually in the box labeled 'Folder', although I would not...

    Record to network share

I can log into the Nas from Explorer, yes. I just don't know how to get BI to upload my clips and stills to it. I tried entering the Mas's ip address in one of the clip archive windows but it would not accept that. I'm sure it a small detail that I just don't quite understand. Once I have this...

    Record to network share

I know I'm wearing out my welcome but that's the part I don't understand; pointing to the NAS. It doesn't come up as a choice when I choose NETWORK and I can't figure out how or what to enter to provide the Nas address manually.

    Record to network share

I'm getting closer. I created the new account and was able to save it in the Blue Iris Services window. I rebooted and BI came up as always. The last thing that I am not clear on is how I can save save clips in real time (or virtually) to my NAS. In the BI Options window > Clips and Archiving I...

    Record to network share

I'll give that a try right now. Thanks again. By the way, I wonder if I am understanding the NAS concept correctly. I see in the help files and elsewhere that BI should be recording clips to a fast, internal drive or SSD which makes perfect sense for obvious reasons. If this is true how can one...

Thank you for clarifying that. I actually tried that first and when it didn't work I assumed that I had misunderstood the instruction so I tried creating the new BI account. Just to be clear: When I go into the Admin tools and and change that setting to enter the new account info I should enter...

I am still stuck. When you say "Create a local account on the windows box", I assume you mean to create a new user account within Blue Iris? (and not a new Windows user account?) If so I did create a new Blue Iris user & password within the BI Users tab, then did step 2: "Create an identical...

Windows 10 - Auto Startup Problem w/ Blue Iris

I followed the instructions from the link that Fenderman provided and my BI4 boots up beautifully upon restarting the computer intentionally or automatically after a power loss. The only issue I am having is that the software (or perhaps Windows 10?) does connect back with the modem. So, if I am...

4MP Domes for the best solution?

Upon seeing your reply i just looked at my camera specs and it does say "True Day/Night IR Cut Filter". I'm not exactly sure what this means but it sounds like a good thing :) I'll have to dig into this and learn why. I have noticed that at night when using the camera outside of my front door it...

4MP Domes for the best solution?

Fenderman, good point. I should be able to find someplace to hide an NVR. I can always have my critical Snapshots sent via email and save them on the email server deleting them weekly as i have always done in the past. I just want something that will be offsite in the event of a break-in. I...

4MP Domes for the best solution?

When I choose a camera and then right click it, I have a choice at the very bottom of the drop-down called Hardware Property Pages but it does not function (can't open it further or make any choices for some reason). There is nothing specifically for "Camera...". Also, I realized that I...

4MP Domes for the best solution?

Fenderman: Thanks for your response. As you know, I am just getting started with BI4 so I have not sorted out the finer points of my recording choices. Can you elaborate on your comment regarding "Direct to Disk?" I don't see a setting suggesting it would record one way or the other. One of the...

4MP Domes for the best solution?

I just competed my install of 8 4MP IP cams and Blue Iris 4. I am very impressed by BI4. It's like a dream come true after dealing with analog systems for so many years. The only issue I am having, which has come as a real surprise, is that these 4MP cameras do not record a car's license plate...

Blue Iris 4 - Clips and Archiving question

Fendernam, thanks. I was under the impression that the hot spot (red box) is what triggers the motion detection in a given area and that the mask brush creates the areas to ignore. How should I be creating a "trigger" area within the frame?
