Dahua V4.002.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-07-17 firmware

Very true! That was why I was very hesitant to upgrade from V3.216.0000002.0.R.20181106 to most recent version. The only reason was for security updates. I did send an email to Dahua support notifying them of the issue (which probably will fall on deaf ears and not be dealt with).

Dahua V4.002.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-07-17 firmware

It must be the firmware upgrade. Cameras zoomed great with the older firmware, and they zoom great when I directly access them with IE.

Dahua V4.002.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-07-17 firmware

Same thing happens in Edge IE mode. Interesting. In Palemoon a box pops up when I try to zoom stating "Need to control PTZ in the realtime monitoring status. " . Not sure why this is happening, I am in "Live mode when trying to zoom.

FWI: I recently installed V4.002.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-07-17 firmware on my NVR 5208-8p-4KSE2 (cameras are IPC-HDW223`E-2S) and noticed that the zoom feature only allows zooming fully out or fully in. Previous versions of firmware allowed partial zooms in and out.

    P2P Safety & Secure?

I always access the NVR either at the NVR or through web browser on my private network. I seldom use P2P, but that port was open. They were able to log into the admin account. QR code, serial number or password has never been put on the web or made public. I knew Dahua did have a backdoor...

    P2P Safety & Secure?

Just last week I saw my NVR (Dahua 5208-8p-4KS2E) had rebooted around midnight. I checked the logs and saw a couple of different IP addresses (European IP address) had gain access to the NVR. Luckily, nothing malicious was done, just viewing cameras. I have very strong password for the log in...

Dahua NVR5208-8P-4KS2E playback buffers whenever it gets to a motion detected section of the video

I Updated firmware to 4.002.0000007.r, Build date 2024-07-17. Everything seem functional, but whenever I do a playback on a section of video and when it comes to the point when motion was detected, the video the video window goes black and seems to buffer for about 2 seconds before the video...

    Firmware update for NVR 5208-8P-4KS2E?

I am totally confused after reading (ad nauseam) many of the post on firmware updating and bricking the NVR. I am running 3.126.0000004.0 Build date 2108-12-29. I take it this is Verson 2.0. I have read that to upgrade to version 4.0 I need to upgrade with a lower version of 4.0, prior to...

    Accounts?

Okay, if someone was able to access the login page of the NVR, How are they able to get into the system without knowing the correct password? BTW, all passwords are strong on my systems.

    Accounts?

No, I was the only one. System has been operating for 5 years. Yes, I am reading on upgrading the firmware. I just dread I doesn't get bricked.
  18. N

    Accounts?

No I am not. After reading people bricking their routers including the NCR5208-8p-4KS2, I decided not to upgrade.

    Accounts?

I noticed an account called "service" on my NCR5208-8p-4KS2? Is this a required account? Are there any "required" accounts on the NVR other than admin and user accounts?

    Wind zone 4 garage door

I have a Gold Fortified built home design to withstand a Category 3 hurricane with an 18-foot wide garage door weighing 476 pounds. When a bad hurricane comes my way I have a 1" rigid pipe that I can install in under 5 minutes that will give added wind protection to the center of the door...

    Surge Protection from Lightning

That setup will protect your NVR at the expense of a blown camera and switch. The surge suppressor is great for induced voltage spikes from lightning, but cannot withstand a direct lightning strike. As for the wire connection, I would use a copper split bolt for the connection of the grounds...

How to view Dahua cameras without browser plugins

Microsoft did away with Internet Explorer. But if you still want to use it, you can download and install "OpenInternetExplorer" from GitHub. Explorer was never erased from your system so "OpenInternetExplorer" permits Internet Explorer to continue to be used. Works for both Windows 10 & 11...

    Ethernet over coax question...

Just be aware that some of the powerline ethernet adapters can trip a Combination arc fault circuit interrupters (CAFCI). I had to get rid of my TP-Link because it would sporadically trip my Siemen's CAFCI 30 amp breaker. So I decided to go with an old router running DD-WRT setup as a wireless...

    western digital hd purple scrapped?

I would think that since the NVR is running a Linux variant and therefore is formatted with one of the Linux formats. If you are running Windows Subsystem for Linux then you should be able to see the format, or you can boot up with a live distro of Linux to check the drive.

    Latest New NVR5xxx-4KS2 General_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.001.0000006.1.R.210709

The reason I am asking is that version V4.001.0000006.0 (2021-02-8) on the NVR still requires the Internet Explorer NACL plugin. With IE going on the wayside after June 15, 2022, I, therefore, need to upgrade so that Firefox or Edge fully supports accessing the NVR over the ethernet.
