I installed this version upgrade today on my IPC-HDW2231R-ZS. Didn't notice any issues and IVS tripwire push notification still working fine. Looks like there is a new setting under Safety.
You are setting your PC IP to the same as the gateway 192.168.254.1 don't think that will work. Try something different like 192.168.254.10 or just set PC to obtain IP by DHCP.
Do you have a micro SD card installed and recording as well? You can set IVS tripwire in the camera settings itself and get notifications that way. Your NAS can still be recording.

Do you set the 1/30 for day profile or night profile? When motion light kicks in there is enough light so it will be day setting? I always wondered which is best to set to for people with motion lights since it's technically night time but the lighting makes it day...
Asus routers you can have VLAN suport running Merlin firmware with scripts if you are comfortable with that. Some editing of the codes will be required. if you prefer using GUI then best to get a VLAN capable router and switch. Have a look at Ubiquiti products.
In the video playback click on that icon circled in green and you will see the rules flashing when it's triggered. This capture is from my playback in internet explorer.
How are you going to replace it? Open the walls up and remove the physical cable? I don't think it can easily pull through... Or you mean to add CAT6 cables?
They can record to both SD card and NVR. You can view the recorded SD footage without NVR. Accessing it online can be either through the HIKVISION p2p function or you can setup a VPN to access your cameras on the home network.
