    Please help identify this camera

ah...the plot thickens. Thank you, @mat200 So, it is definitely not a wifi, only PoE. Are Lorex and Qsee brands, both are Dahua OEM's? Reason I ask is the firmware was updated back in 2019. The person who gave it to me, as I recall, they had asked questions about it back then. From intial...

    Please help identify this camera

I can’t seem to find any details as to what model it is. I was able to reset it so the IP is back to the default 192.168.1.108 then logged into it using a browser. Didn’t see anything in any of the menus that indicate what this might be. seeking assistance thank you.

Dell Refurb desktop sale. 45% off with code: FALL45DESK

So, I've been doing a bit more thinking (thinking = trouble ) LOL. While these refurb dell's can be a good deal, I read elsewhere that these boxes are limited to expandability or replacing parts. For example, the power supply can only be replaced one from Dell. I may start with the stock...

For those who have hidden or disguised Cams in faux Bird House's, any issues with birds pecking or damaging the lens?

I wanted to do the same, by which I mean, installing a camera in a birdhouse. I have a lot of planters near my front door so placing one there, at the ideal height would be great. At one point, I had searched high and low through google images as well as pinterest but never really found any good...

    PC specs for Blue Iris

Thank you for the feedback, it is appreciated. Deepstack is new to me so I will ramp up on it. I just did a quick google and found a great tutorial on deploying it: Per that link, sounds like i can install an nVidia video card and offload the DeepStack processing onto it. So, does that mean...

    Strong Enough Computer

I have just posted a similar thread, asking if the particular hardware will be good enough. Based on my reading, the MP's coming out of the cam is important. Two 4K cams running at 15 frames per second translates to 250 MP's. Upto 800 MPs is good for a four core CPU. While these are general...

    PC specs for Blue Iris

I am thinking of assembling a system together to run blue iris. I looked at many refurb SFF pc's like dell optiplex, in the end, I prefer something with relatively current specs. Most ($300 range) refurbs are 4 core i7's. To that end, I am considering a six core i5, 16GB RAM and an SSD + WD...

BI on AMD cpu based machine

Hey folks, is anyone using BI on AMD cpu based machine? I have a buddy looking to repurpose an old desktop and I suggested to save it for possible BI use as he's been thinking about security cams. In reading plentiful threads here on the SFF 3rd or 4th gen intel based i5 machines to be ideal...

sun/rain shield (Dahua and HIK products)

two BI install machines with one license

 I was thinking along the same lines too. The three I have are still on the bench, will install them in the next 30 or so days...but I can see that next maybe one or two, I might tinker with then the rest will get installed as soon as I buy them. I may just have been overthinking. as a...

@awsum140 aaah yes, indeed. That makes sense. Based on your feedback, looks like there won't be a need for a 2nd BI install. thank you @Ssayer - thanks for your input. two BI install machines with one license

Hey All. Happy Friday. I would like to have a production BI and a test BI machine. Ideally, the production BI PC will run cams that have been prepared for deployment (mounted and hardwired) on the wall/eaves, etc. whereas the test BI machine will be used to set up the cam settings, update...

    requesting entry location advice

Hi @mat200 - as always, thanks for your input. It is definitely a challenging location. Will do some very careful inspection and see what are my options to get a cable routed there. @Brunosplace - thanks for your input. I will do a very close inspection of that aread and see if there are any gaps. There is no brick moulding, just the door, the wooden frame around it then the stucco. I will do a close inspection and see if I can find a gap and use a flex line to get a cable...

    Cables and setup /noob

@Alan Carter - you'll need some basic connectivity to use your cam. they can't be plugged in and tested directly into your router. To power them up, you need a PoE switch or an injector, at a minimum.
