    Amcrest ASH43 - unable to login BI5

I started having the same issue on an Amcrest doorbell camera. I have an ASUS network with AIMESH nodes - rebooting the mesh node that the doorbell camera was connected to straightened the problem out; I have no idea why.

Who Is The Pig That Left His Trash On My Front Lawn This Morning?

Hm. Usually nocturnal around here (Greensboro NC) unless they're rabid and out of their mind. Nothing like a loud howl at 3AM to get the blood flowing. They actually do howl at the moon lol.

Nothing like an old fashioned neighborhood shoot out

It wasn't that long ago that that random untargeted, random shootings, drive-bys, etc. were very rare where I live. In fact they were nearly unheard of. Now it's literally every single day with multiples on many days of any given week. All of the defund police stuff has taken hold and is bearing...

Blue Iris - Methods of Reducing CPU Usage

Ok, quick final update - I went thru Live preview frame rate - I set it from 30 to 10 - CPU is 9-10% - very happy with that & the rest of the tuning I'm going to forego at this point. Thanks again!

Blue Iris - Methods of Reducing CPU Usage

Had some time to move forward through the Camera Frame Rate (15) section - made adjustments, now CPU is hovering at....10% !!! I'll keep moving through the rest of the tuning and report back, but I can't imagine it can go much lower. THANK YOU to the folks that chimed in here and another...

Blue Iris - Methods of Reducing CPU Usage

Good info on the i5...guess I'll be replacing my box eventually; according to MS, Windows 10 is good until Oct 14, 2025, so I have some time to find soda cans and pop bottles & turn them in for the deposit :winktongue:...

Blue Iris - Methods of Reducing CPU Usage

@mattp The status bar on the bottom of the BI screen shows 1.4G - must be BI's usage because the overall memory use (from task manager) is 4.8G. I purchased my HP Convertible Minitower (CMT) (not sure why it's named that way) on ebay too - it was a refurb and has given me no trouble (knock...

Blue Iris - Methods of Reducing CPU Usage

Yes, as we used to say back in the day, RTFM. (Problem is, I couldn't FIND the F* Manual LOL, so I appreciated the steer in the right direction). @mattp I already used direct to disk before starting the wiki, so I focused on the sub stream next. The results were astounding. From 95-100% CPU...

    Bruce Willis acting

I've enjoyed Bruce Willis movies too - not a huge Samuel Jackson fan, but Die Hard 3 is a favorite. Anyway, the hope is with therapy and rehab he can "rewire" his brain to function well again. Cheers to Bruce - get better soon!

Car mows down over 20 people in Waukesha Wisconsin Xmas parade

A "car" didn't plow through and maim and kill people, some goddamned blm/antifa/communist/racist moron did. His weapon of choice was an SUV. I'd say I hope he fries, but in today's world potato sh head will probably award him the Medal of Freedom.

    Install on eaves from attic

Not trying to persuade you to use a tall ladder or go beyond your comfort level, but I have found that if I take a little extra time to make the platform the ladder is sitting on LEVEL and STABLE (so that it doesn't slip or move from side to side) that going up those heights isn't as bad as it...

How are you getting to BI remotely?

Chrome Remote Desktop is free and works great if you're needing to get to the BI control machine itself.

How are you getting to BI remotely?

I know the OP said other than VPN, but why not use vpn? I use OpenVPN - it's just a touch to establish a connection and start the BI app. Not sure what the inconvenience is.

    Natural Gas Generators

LP Generac 15kw - had it for 20 years, had to replace the starter and a few battery changes. Regular maintenance (oil, spark plug, air filter), but it still runs fine. Our power went out for 2 days a couple of weeks ago during an ice storm, ran continuously and fine. My neighbor has a 2019...

Hikvision DS-2CD2332-I Bricked After Firmware Update

Hey folks! With all of the security concerns flying around I thought I'd update my DS-2CD2332-I to the latest firmware. But, I brain-checked and did it without looking on ipcamtalk first, so now I'm hosed. I obtained the new firmware from DS-2CD2332-I-Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co...

    Wifi Doorbell

I contacted the Ring support folks - they say that it will not work with Blue Iris and there are no plans to allow it to work with BI. They want to make customers purchase their 'cloud' service. Evidently "Ring" is a piece of crap anyway according to the reviews. Seems like there would be...
