Second full license of BI5: can't get remote administration working

I get a page that says “video unavailable”. Is the URL correct? EDIT: I was able to view the video on my PC (didn't work on my iPhone). Thanks for that! But it didn't help unfortunately. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Second full license of BI5: can't get remote administration working

I have a BI5 installation running as a service, with a user set up in BI with admin and remote admin access. I can connect to the BI machine from a browser and log in successfully. I can use the iPhone app successfully. But I cannot get BI remote admin to work from another machine on my LAN...

Does remote management system cause re-encoding?

Just wondering what happens if I license a second copy of BI5... can I remote manage my main BI machine in a way that doesn't cause the main BI instance to re-encode video? I'm trying to avoid any more CPU consumption on that machine. It feels like the remote instance should be able to read the...

BI-based system installed with tips from this site

I was looking into getting a Core i9-9900K machine to provide more headroom. My main machine is a 9900K so I will probably try out BI on that and compare results. I’m thinking the 9900 has double the cores and better cache and so could be quite a bit more efficient for my setup. I’m assuming I...

BI-based system installed with tips from this site

I'm also finding in BI that "limit decoding" and lower frame rates don't interact well with using the built-in motion detector. Basically there is a lag triggering the cameras that cam run 1+ second. That makes sense, since "limit decoding" means that even for motion detection purposes, only...

BI-based system installed with tips from this site

Actually I've since reconfigured as I play around with various settings. I have my cameras at 5fps now (with 1 i-frame per second). I am not sure I see any real rationale for more than that. 200ms should be long enough to not miss any motion. I also changed the Wi-Fi camera to the same...

Is there a way to delete clips, en masse?

You can also click on the first clip then hold down shift and use the up/down arrows. When the ones you want are highlighted, hit the delete key. I find not using the mouse can sometimes be easier, e.g. using the down arrow will also perform scrolling while doing the highlighting.

BI-based system installed with tips from this site

Thanks to tips I received from this site, I was able to install a system that I'll describe below. I think this system is on the more involved side, and I learned a lot doing it. Ask me anything. A total of 13 cameras. 11 exterior: 10x Amcrest IP8M-2496, 4K PoE bullet camera 1x Amcrest...

BI5 playback: ghosting with H.264H, stuttering with H.265

I followed advice I saw on the wiki and downgraded my Intel video drivers to a version from 2 years ago, 21.20.16.4664. Surprisingly, this fixed the ghosting I was seeing. I don't understand how though. The exact stream that came from the camera should be in the BVR, right? so if I turn off...

BI5 playback: ghosting with H.264H, stuttering with H.265

I've read a few threads about ghosting. I am also experiencing random ghosting when my cameras are encoding H.264H, and stuttering with H.265. This happens only during playback. With either encoding, the video looks perfect live in BI, in the camera's web page, and in VLC. It's only when being...
