you could always leave the standard clock overlay in the BVR. it doesnt hurt and takes basically no space. then all you have to do is single click each cam and ctrl+O to hide em.
youll probably need to at least uncheck "object travels" and "object size exceeds" or maybe turn off object detection altogether. can also clone the camera if you still want to use motion zones and such.
i use BI overlays no that no part of the video is permanently covered. you think the little timestamp wouldnt matter, but i cant tell you how many times i was watching live pd and they showed some clip from a bank or convenience store and the action was happening right under the timestamp. it...
I havent noticed any measurable increase with overlays since it's just saving text metadata to the BVR file. And for evidence, you'd have to export to an mp4 anyway. You wouldn't be giving anyone the BVR. When you export, you include the overlay.
Why not use a BlueIris overlay instead of the one from the cam? Using it through BI you have the option to keep it or remove it when you export a clip. It also means all overlays will be synced up since they use BIs clock. So much more flexibility that way.
can we get pics of the locations of some of those low cameras? the bottom left one looks detached from the house. how do you have that cable run?
also, just the one tesla, or..? :p
when you login via the web GUI, try opening Chromes developer tools and go to the network tab. see if it will reveal how it is passing the credentials. outside of that, no idea :\
not being able to find the device sounds like a different error. if it was a credential problem, youd likely get access denied, or some such. sure you have the right port? tried without entering a port?
have you tried removing the hotspot zone? it really isn't meant to cover a huge area like that and you shouldnt really be needing it at all with your zone crossings set up. its possible theres a bug that hotspot fires alerts regardless, but not sure.
Does anyone know how to toggle a Smart Plan on or off via a simple http command? The Dahua API documentation is super old and I can't find any reference to it. Specifically, I want to be able to toggle Auto Tracking on or off with a SD50225U.
edit for anyone who sees this in the future:
First I...
ya ive never tried to mount a dome vertically, but ive seen it done plenty of places. i imagine with the wide angle youre looking to just observe the area, so really up to you if you can stand the tilt or not.
is it a ptz? if yes, then definitely. if not, and you were able to aim it the way you want, then i suppose youre fine. could also mount it to the horizontal surface there, but not sure how high that is and if the angle would get worse.
I'm also having an issue with this firmware. Presets are not showing up in the IVS menu. See screenshots.
Anyone have any ideas?
(ignore the camera view, it hasn't been mounted yet)
Certain elements like Precip only appear when it's actually raining and there is Precip to report. Other elements like temperature, etc stay visible all the time and update according to the interval set in the app. Only CPU updates outside that interval and instead updates every couple of seconds.
I'm with concord's pi idea. That's also what I use for a separate monitor on my wall nearish my TV. With a little linux knowledge, you can use a $35 pi3 and show your cameras on a 1080p monitor however you want. If you're going UHD, probably will want the slightly more expensive pi4. Google...
Yup, I rolled back to 5.2.8.3 and everything immediately reconnected without credentials. Ken did some networking changes around ipv6, so probably just a line of code got overlooked. I'm sure he'll fix quick.
Rules defined under 'Webserver > Advanced > Limit IP addresses' seem to be ignored. At least in my case. I've given admin to certain subnets, but am now getting login prompts.
It's been reported to the developer and he is looking into it.
Keep an eye on this thread where people are discussing it on pages 3/4: 5.2.8 - May 20, 2020 - Direct-to-disc BVR recording will now include metadata for video overlays
