Is there alternative mobile android app for blue iris?

I've had this app both on Android and IOS. On IOS I found no problems, however on Android I've had constant problems with the cameras not refreshing. In many cases, the app loads and the camera views remain blank. It's not the connection as on the same device, UI3 on the web works perfectly fine...

Are alerts re-generated when 'Test run video through motion detector' is run ?

Pity as it would have saved many hours of work this weekend! I wonder if there is any third party software out there into which you could feed an exported clip and let it do the analysis. It is a shame that BI can't handle it though since all the tech is in there.

Are alerts re-generated when 'Test run video through motion detector' is run ?

Hello, I am wondering whether anybody can help me on this. I should be researching on my own but I have a critical event I need to find from many hours of footage which will take me forever unless I find a good solution quickly. I had a camera for which the original motion detector settings...

Cameras losing connection - resolved by frequent reboots of Blueiris NOT the cameras themselves. What's going wrong?

Well, one more observation from my side: I now have dedicated a WIFI router for my WIFI cameras - 4 out of 9. Even then, the number of dropouts was very high for all four. I've taken the plunge and wired 2 of the 4 and the number of dropouts drastically decreased - not only for the wired ones...

    Yellow explanation marks

Hello, I am also struggling with figuring out why i have these exclamation marks on some of my cameras. I actually have the same model of camera and have cross checked everything for each camera (camera-side) and they are exactly the same. Yet one of them shows the warning and the other doesn't...

Cameras losing connection - resolved by frequent reboots of Blueiris NOT the cameras themselves. What's going wrong?

Thank you all for your help with this one. I think i've progressed another big step with my setup by moving everything into a subnet. I am just amazed at how the streams were bringing my router to its knees. As a summary: I set up an unused router I had available and rewired all my wired...

Cameras losing connection - resolved by frequent reboots of Blueiris NOT the cameras themselves. What's going wrong?

@looney2ns - thanks your message - just to be clear, as this gets a bit complicated for me : If I physically connect everything to the same "Box" then that Box to my main router, that's ok? Or should i go for a separate subnet? I know it's not ideal but really I do have 3 cameras where I simply...

Cameras losing connection - resolved by frequent reboots of Blueiris NOT the cameras themselves. What's going wrong?

Thanks for that pointer. Very interesting. I must admit that one thing I omitted from mentioning (only because it was still half an idea formed in my head :)) is that in these COVID times I'm tending to have a lot of Zoom/Teams meetings and was starting to wonder whether this was contributing to...

Cameras losing connection - resolved by frequent reboots of Blueiris NOT the cameras themselves. What's going wrong?

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed all optimizations feasible are implemented. I do not have an external Graphics card so acceleration is switched on but for Intel. Previously to switching on Substreams, i'd frequently get a CPU leak in that it would slowly rise up to 100%, but this stopped when I...

Cameras losing connection - resolved by frequent reboots of Blueiris NOT the cameras themselves. What's going wrong?

Thanks for your quick reply. Prior to setting up substreams I was experiencing 50-60% usage but I never had this issue (granted.. I had other issues which perhaps superseded this one!) The CPU is an I7 7200 / 2.5GHz (Kaby Lake) with 32GB Ram Attached is the screenshot as requested.

Cameras losing connection - resolved by frequent reboots of Blueiris NOT the cameras themselves. What's going wrong?

Hello, I have a setup with 9 cams - mixed brands, mixed resolutions. A few months ago I had an issue with resources, which I have resolved successfully through the use of substreams. This resulted in 15-20 % CPU usage, and it's very stable and responsive, BUT, from time to time, I start...

BI Consuming more CPU on a newer processor?

ok... I get it now ! I just configured substreams and my CPU is averaging 15%.... !!!! thank you very much for all your recommendations on this!

Getting Intel Quick Sync to work with Blue Iris (Settings & Troubleshooting)

A quick question: This wiki mentions that if quicksync is working, one should see "#" next to megapixels. I think I have it working, but here I see an "I" (presumably for "I"ntel), while cameras with no acceleration is showing "-". Do I have quicksync working?

BI Consuming more CPU on a newer processor?

That's interesting, thanks. In fact, power consumption (or rather the lack thereof) is also in my list of priorities. If I find it throttles CPU and it's showing 90% and it's still useable, while saving power, to me that's better than having a monster running at 35% and consuming 4X the power...

BI Consuming more CPU on a newer processor?

Thanks for the insight. Then I guess it will have to be that way. I am just surprised that since the laptop is always connected to power it would still favor low power consumption over performance. I'll surely look into the substreams if they are that helpful.

BI Consuming more CPU on a newer processor?

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I am fully aware about the laptop issue. However my older setup was also a laptop. Yes indeed I followed all optimisations in the wiki (except the part on configuring substreams but this was the case also on the older laptop). I am just wondering why would there be...

BI Consuming more CPU on a newer processor?

Hi all, to the more technically minded out there, I have a question: I have been running BI on an old Dell Precision Laptop (always plugged in, at full power, with whatever power saving settings i could switch off). It got it to run pretty stable, but it's lately given up, hardware wise. The...

Blueiris added direct support for Deepstack AI

Amazing! thank you! Sounds doable, as effectively I have potentially thousands of images taken by the same cameras that I would be using for the same purpose. I'm assuming that since they all have the same background, it might turn out to be a good exercise to use the same images which are very...

Blueiris added direct support for Deepstack AI

Thanks for the pointer! So, just to understand this a bit more, if I create a custom model, I can call it something which isn't reserved (like "CustomCat") and then enter that into the Blue Iris list together with Person,Cat,Dog etc.. and it should work?

Blueiris added direct support for Deepstack AI

Could somebody shed some light on this. Excuse the layman terms as I am completely new to this: Is it possible to get Deepstack to learn how to better recognize an object by manually confirming or rejecting a "recognition event" that is fed to it by Blue Iris? Is there any way I can monitor the...

Blueiris added direct support for Deepstack AI

I'm so pleased with this new addition to BI! So far, it is working very well when it comes to detecting people or cars. ...However I have tried to add "cat" to the list and so far I get no positives at all I have tried a number of things (including chasing my cat with a camera) I am wondering...

    Trying to understand Hardware Acceleration

thank you. yes indeed. Perhaps i am too worried that the issue is coming from a specific camera or camera H/W, but in fact, I have a mix of these and no matter what I do it seems that any camera is contributing to the effect, so it's indeed probably the computer H/W. I'll start digging for a...

    Trying to understand Hardware Acceleration

I agree, and that's where i'd like to go, but I'd like to understand first what's not working - I do not want to spend money on a new machine only to find i have the same problem! I'm not even sure at this point what machine to go for. Most likely i won't exceed 10 cameras, and would like to...

    Trying to understand Hardware Acceleration

It get's even more mysterious .... all my H/W Acceleration at camera level automatically changed to NO at some point, so it seems like i'm not even using anything, and yet a performance increase. I really cannot understand this.

    Trying to understand Hardware Acceleration

GPU-Z : Great pointer! Thank you very much for that :) So, in the past hour I have done the following: Went into the machine's BIOS and enabled the so called "Optimus" mode This made both the internal (Intel) and the NVIDIA Card active I changed H/W Acceleration to Intel Beta (I tied also...

    Trying to understand Hardware Acceleration

    - I tried both setting it specifically on each camera and default at camera level and setting it in the main settings - no difference observed. Cameras still show "N" meaning they are configured to use NVIDIA. Log shows H/W acceleration being set but no error. As I mention above - I am watching...

    Trying to understand Hardware Acceleration

Hi All, I am trying to understand how exactly H/W acceleration works in BI and how to actually verify it works. I have seen a number of threads in this regard, but I am not 100% sure whether i can figure this out properly still... I have an NVIDIA card inbuilt into my machine I have a...

    How are the 3 encoder profiles - streaming 0, 1, 2 used?

I am basing myself on this list : Video Encode and Decode GPU Support Matrix I have an NVIDIA Quadro P2000M (My Blue Iris server is and old but still relatively powerful Dell Precision Laptop) According to this list it should support both Encode and Decode, but I do get this error when I choose...

    How are the 3 encoder profiles - streaming 0, 1, 2 used?

Very good points. I was wondering whether the H/W Acceleration that can be specified here makes a difference (This is what brought me to the question as I didn't know which of the 3 i should try). I am currently running on NVIDIA H/W and the Decoding seems to be working fine, but when I choose...
