Dahua 8MP Lite model cameras with 8MP 1/2.7" and 4MP 1/3" sensors labeled as "starlight" models. September 2020

Maybe I misread your post a bit but there are still Wiz cameras with the 1/1.8 sensor but it looks like Dahua is modifying other series. https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/All-Products/Network-Cameras/WizMind-Series/5-Series/4MP/IPC-HFW5442E-SE?us...

Using sub-streams dropped CPU utilization down dramatically:

I must agree that this is a game changer for me as I build out my camera setup and not have to think about doing any upgrades to my Blue Iris hardware for a long time to come.

    Blue Iris UI3

If you are trying to connect to the UI3 in your LAN from that IP address is needs to be Local Access section. I think you mis-typed your external IP into that section by mistake.

LPR Cam installed 6 days ago already recorded a crime

You can see the two cameras I use for my LPR setup in my signature the Z12E is for plates and the Z4E is an overview atm. I probably will eventually replace the Z4E with another non zoom camera. Here are two clips from last night. You will need to modify settings on the LPR camera but my...

    Camera installation location recommendation

I second @sebastiantombs advice do a little bit of research and start small with a camera or two and build up your system from there. You might think you are getting a deal with a package like this but in the end you will be replacing lots of cameras with money lost. I also personally recommend...

Do you mind explaining how you accomplished I am curious in the future if I want to change which one records as I thought both always recorded and it was only which was viewed that changes.

Neighbor's Pickup Truck Stolen Early This Morning.

That is some great footage makes me feel good about working on my LPR setup first and tuning it so I can get evidence like this if needed in the future, fingers crossed I don't have to for myself or my neighbors.

Camera Software Recommendations - 20+ camera location

I would to second the use of Sub-streams if you are amenable to the lower quality when viewing all your cams at once. This I have recently incorporated into my system and even if a few cameras it has made a noticeable difference in my overall CPU usage.

    Blue Iris UI3

I have recently setup the UI3 with remote access and when I log in from away from my home and see the overview screen my FPS is limited to 5. I have substreams on both of my cams so the resolution should be downgraded until I click on a stream but they are all set to 15 frames for both the main...

    Dual NIC via USB? Recommendations?

Wow I was just going to research the same topic as I just purchased a HP EliteDesk 800 G1 USDT Desktop i7-4790S 3.2GHz 8GB 256GB SSD and after I bought it found out it doesn't have room for expansion PCI slots I am glad we are able to purchase a USB dongle to achieve the dual NIC setup that I am...

    CPU running at 100%?

After reading through this thread I also decided to look into the substreams for my two cameras and my CPU went down from 16-18% to under 5% what a difference. My CPU is an I5-6500. @pbc did you ever decide how you are streaming and if you could get the CPU down to a reasonable amount with it...

    HFW5241E-Z12E and DahuaSunriseSunset Utility

You might also want to get current focus when you have the setting right and enter in there I do that and change it right on the sunrise and sunset and have not had any issues so far but I set a specific focus between night and day.

Looking for some feedback on my driveway cam proposal

I already own the Z4E I am trying to purchase a set lens and these have a little bit better specs compared to the varifocal at the set lengths. These are really to be close in so I would be wasting zoom on the Verifocal as i would not go beyond 6mm.

Looking for some feedback on my driveway cam proposal

Now that I am taking a break on my LPR setup with my zoomed in cam and overview of the street cam I want to think about how I am going to monitor the front of my house mainly the driveway and entrance to my house. My thought is to have two cams on each corner point towards each other to get some...

    LPR camera addition

Another night with these updated settings and I think that I am satisfied that I don't need to do any more modifications. I get really clear license plates in the back and the headlights on the front are not as blown out and I am still able to get the license plate. I appreciate everyone's...

    LPR camera addition

Yup but my car doesn't have a front license plate and my cars lights are LED which don't blast my camera like this car does in the picture I posted earlier. I could go and park it to tune the back of cars but that is less of a problem than the front.

    LPR camera addition

Alright I went back to 1/2000 shutter my gain is now 10-40 and I increased my Iris to 53 and moved my HLC back to 40. Lets see how those settings work out tonight. Good this is this car comes every day at around the same time and I recently verified it is the newspaper delivery guy for those to...

    B5422E-Z4E / HFW5422E-Z4E specification

I noticed they rebranded this category of camera to the Wiz Mind from the Pro IA Series not sure if Dahua is moving away from the Pro series to this group of cameras moving forward and decided to update their specs on the lux.

    LPR camera addition

Alright I updated my settings and will see how it works out night. These pictures were just as they entered the frame so I do have more video of them as they leave the Cul De Sac to get a better view if needed.
