    Reolink smart home integrations offline?

Announcements from my smart speakers (which never stopped working for my Amcrest and EZVIZ back doorbells) resumed working for the ReoLink with no further intervention on my part. I did NOT perform a device hard reset, confident that the issue was not my device, account, or its settings, nor was...

    Reolink smart home integrations offline?

Been there and done that. Even removed and readded the device from my ReoLink account and reauthorized sharing of it to those services before unlinking/relinking in each service and then enabling announcements in each after the device has been readded. No change. I can even view the live feed...

    Reolink smart home integrations offline?

As of today, June 4th, 2025, human detection and button press notifications have ceased on my Alexa echo devices and Google smart speaker. I continue to receive such notifications from the ReoLink app on my iPhone. Per chat with tech support, I've removed and re-added the POE doorbell in both...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I have attached two identical segments, one extracted from my NVR using DMSS, and the other extracted from the POE Doorbell's microSD card, using the ReoLink desktop application. My NVR captures the POE Doorbell's RTSP stream via the ONVIF protocol. If you playback both clips in VLC, you will...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Alternate stream might work for video but I'd be forfeiting the ONVIF motion events. Not so much an issue for Blue Iris (CPU utilization would tick up though), but my Dahua NVR doesn't do video analysis for software motion detection, it relies on protocol motion detection events from the cam.

Repurposed doorbell cam becomes “boiler cam”

I was having difficulty getting my furnace’s inlet and blow off valves dialed in since having rebuilt them after sediment and rust fouled them. I was tired of having to squeeze into a tight space in the basement to check system pressure and the small bucket that catches water from the blow off...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Just picked up a refurb POE doorbell and so far so good. I flashed it to the latest firmware and am pleased to find that adding it to my Dahua NVR as an ONVIF protocol device works fine, including ONVIF motion detection. My only issue at present is that despite choosing constant framerate and...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Yeah, BlueIris is easy. I was hoping to get ONVIF working so I'd have motion detection working for this cam on my Dahua NVR. Presently, it records the RTSP stream constantly and nearby cameras' motion detection trigger motion recording on this one. That's the best I can do with this setup, I...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Be careful - I could be mistaken, but I think the doorbell is designed for 24VAC (traditional doorbell AC transformer), not 24VDC. You could end up frying it.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Thanks. It seems my DB1C is NOT compatible with firmwares for the legacy DB1. Looks like it will never have ONVIF. Hoping someone can prove me wrong about that.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Hi, misally. I've been running an ezviz branded DB1C on firmware ezviz build 220802 which has no ONVIF, just RTSP, and so, no motion detection recordings on my NVR. I'd like to downgrade to the ONVIF-enabled firmware you have, 200321, but don't know A) from where to get it and B) how to load...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Looking for a true POE doorbell cam to replace my Amcrest AD110, as it struggles to get good WiFi from my Deco M5 mesh node only 3 feet away. This ReoLink advertises ONVIF capability with no support for 3rd party NVRs. Has anyone successfully used it with a Dahua or Amcrest NVR? Did motion...

offsite NVR to onsite NVR (different brands) using ONVIF

I'm using my personal, Amcrest branded NVR, running Dahua firmware, to provide offsite recording of two channels of a ReoLink NVR. I'm able to do this because although these particular ReoLink cameras are not ONVIF compatible, the ReoLink NVR itself provides ONVIF compatibility. It was simply...

    NV5232 less stable than NV4116?

Today (about a year later) I finally opened the case to see what's what. I replaced this thermal pad that was between the heatsink and the CPU with some CPU silver thermal grease. Sadly, no improvement. CPU temp still settles in at low sixties. I'm sure I could get it lower with upgraded...

Motion Tracking only working with Human Detection enabled - TechAge 5MP POE PT camera

After a recent firmware update to two TechAge 5MP POE PT cams (my NVR reports their type as IPC_GK7205V200_G5C-LQ_S38), the system info is now reported in their admin page as V5.00.R02.H72659O6.10010.140d00.0000000 with a build date of 2024-01-19 16:17:10. The vendor instructed me to perform...

    NV5232 less stable than NV4116?

I set fan speed to high and temp dropped a bit. Let’s see how it goes. Maybe I can do without the daily reboot now.

    NV5232 less stable than NV4116?

Thanks. What’s your temp & cpu utilization at for reference?
  18. E

    NV5232 less stable than NV4116?

Well, that’s disappointing. The self adaptive setting for the fan should raise its speed if the cpu is getting too hot. I’ll try changing the setting to constant instead of self adaptive and see what effect that has on temp. Not looking forward to the whine of 8600rpm. If it makes a difference...

    NV5232 less stable than NV4116?

That’s an idea. I’ll check the router logs first. If I disconnect the Poe switch from the router, I lose the WiFi mesh connection to two WiFi doorbells and one WiFi cam.

    NV5232 less stable than NV4116?

Non-POE. Logs are ordinary right up until the abnormal reboot. I think I can rule out heat…

    NV5232 less stable than NV4116?

If I did that, none of the cams would be connected to it. This model only has the one port.

    NV5232 less stable than NV4116?

P2P is disabled. I have DMSS configured to connect by IP (using dynamic dns and port forwarding). New NVR is configured with same static IP as the one it replaced. connecting by IP a no-go when it’s in this state. The only relevant log entry is the one that indicates “Abnormal Reboot”
  23. E

    NV5232 less stable than NV4116?

By hangs, I mean I can’t connect to it remotely through the DMSS app, and attempting to search or access any feature through the console results in a reboot. When it comes back online, it’s apparent that it hasn’t been recording any channel for some length of time. (Hours or days depending on...

    NV5232 less stable than NV4116?

For years, I ran a hodgepodge of 14 mixed brand ONVIF cams on an Amcrest NV4116 with the only Dahua firmware version that preserved motion detection on all the cams. Several months ago, I swapped it out for an Amcrest NV5232 and updated that with again… the only Dahua firmware version that...

FiOS router coming online interrupts camera feeds... why?

My NVR only has the one network port and I need to access it from the internet, so if you’re right, then this is unavoidable.
  26. E

FiOS router coming online interrupts camera feeds... why?

Agreed. I don’t think that’s it either. Considering how infrequently my router gets rebooted (firmware updates every few years), this isn’t an issue that warrants the effort it might take to solve it. It’s more of a puzzle, really.
  27. E

FiOS router coming online interrupts camera feeds... why?

Yes. As an added measure, I also have static assignment of those addresses to those MACs in the router, in case DHCP gets enabled on the devices. Internet access is blocked for the cams’ addresses as well, but that shouldn’t matter to the nvr or the pc, which added the cams by IP address.

FiOS router coming online interrupts camera feeds... why?

This is what has me confused… it’s all intrasubnet traffic. The ip-cams, NVR and blur Iris pc are all on the same subnet. What’s more is that I can unplug the Ethernet cable from the router and everything keeps working. Likewise if I unplug the routers power cable. The interruption only occurs...

FiOS router coming online interrupts camera feeds... why?

I think you might have hit the nail on the head. At least the part about the function that the router is performing. I’ll look into forcing a static route independent of that router. Thanks.

FiOS router coming online interrupts camera feeds... why?

Tonight my usually bulletproof FiOS service was interrupted when a firmware update was pushed to my router. After twice restarting the router, I finally had to power cycle the ONT to restore internet access after the event. That aside, I noticed something I can't reconcile. Both times that...
