FYI, playing around with it some more, I've noticed that if I add the "flagalert=-1" parameter, I can change a memo on a retrigger. If the camera is not already triggered, it changes the memo of the last alert.

I am triggering a camera externally via the http API, and supplying a memo in the url. If I retrigger the camera with an updated memo, the memo does not change. Is there any way to update a memo when retriggering? I'm running version 5.5.1.15

Right if you leave it connected 24/7, it should work. But is this what people typically do? I don’t know that I really want all my internet usage going through my home network

The only way I could get it to work is if the phone has direct access to Blue Iris without a VPN. I really wish this wasn’t the case, and I’m not totally sure why that is necessary.

Can you tell me how you fixed this? I'm having the same issue. Notification images don't come though when away from home. Do I have to connect to the VPN every time I leave my house?

What is your router's subnet mask?

So when you set a static IP, I assume you are doing that in the camera's web interface? If you are not using a dual NIC setup, you should probably use the router to set a static IP for the camera, and set the camera to DHCP in the web interface

Is your poe switch connected to a router?

So I have my iphone setup to receive 10-second gifs from Blue Iris after an alert. The GIF comes through fine, but only when my phone is on my LAN. When I am away, I get a notification, but there's no GIF. Thoughts? I've emailed support, but I never get responses from them.

I just received this camera. I noticed that the black faceplate on the camera is optional. What is the difference of leaving it on, vs taking it off?
