AI Flag w/o adding to Alert List

Hmm - I moved it into it's own group but I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say not to show that group in BI - I've scoured the user manual and settings (even tried hiding the camera). My default view is generally 'All Cameras' - are you saying I should use a different view or is there a...

AI Flag w/o adding to Alert List

Hello - I'm currently running an LPR cam with CodeProject.AI and it's working perfectly. The only think I don't like is that it is jamming up my alerts list, like, big time. Especially on the mobile app I'm having to scroll through seas of license plates to glance through recent alerts. I'd...

A couple of miles from the epicenter here - 2 giant bangs and vibration that lasted for some time

You will find a use for it the moment you throw it away :P

    Conduit from basement to attic

To answer your question - no there wouldn't be any issues or interference in a stand alone copper pipe that isn't part of the main home's grounding system There may be other considerations that you haven't thought about (aside from your original question) regarding whether running low voltage...

Motion Detection + AI - What's the secret to stop alerts when recognised objects are outside zones?

Are you using CP.AI or Deepstack? If so you can instruct them to only look in certain zones - I think it was added to the user manual

"We're here to check the air filters .. "

I have seen some testing w/ hollow points and their velocity & penetrability after travelling through sheetrock alone is significantly reduced. Not sure if he was actually using HP's but just another reason that hollow points are so important as they transfer nearly all of their energy to the...

How do you seal an unused 12V Connector on the camera?

I generally fill it with dielectric grease then give it a wrap with silicone tape, never had an issue

    SD4A425DB-HNY Day/Night Switch

Yes I have 10 dahua cameras but they are all on the legacy UI/API so the command is VideoInMode (if I recall correctly)

    SD4A425DB-HNY Day/Night Switch

It does say OK when I post the command but no change - this is the only camera i have on this new GUI/API

Unfortunately no dice with that command either

    SD4A425DB-HNY Day/Night Switch

Not your bad at all! I was tinkering around with the API over the last 3 days using various commands I found in the forums and just hope I didn't accidentally mess up configs. I did do a factory reset though so I imagine all of that tinkering was reversed. If anybody else has gotten into this...

    SD4A425DB-HNY Day/Night Switch

I didn't find that thread in my searches, but it doesn't seem to work either. If you have a chance to test it on this camera and it works for you let me know because then I'll really have to do some further trouble shooting!

    SD4A425DB-HNY Day/Night Switch

Hey all - Okay - I give up and need to make a post - I have scoured through past posts for the past 3 days to try to figure out how to manually trigger the SD4A425DB-HNY between Day/Night mode from BI via web command. I have read that some have had success using...

Vacant home: cameras or security system?

Sounds to me like you have more than enough reason to get surveillance & alarm installed ASAP - seems like you've already got some shadiness scoping it out

Vacant home: cameras or security system?

Also I would recommend throwing a handful of smart switches/plugs in there and put some lamps on random/night time timers

Burnt PoE Pins on Camera & Cable?

Ahh that also makes sense, didn't think of that!

Burnt PoE Pins on Camera & Cable?

Thinking about this a little more - can you inspect the Cat5/Cat6 cable for any knicks/damage? I am wondering if a knick in the cable formed a connection between pins 4&3 and moisture shorted 3 to 2, perhaps a sequence of unfortunate events.

Burnt PoE Pins on Camera & Cable?

It is likely moisture, though I wouldn't expect to see a short across those pins. I always opt for dielectric grease and then give the waterproof housing a good wrap w/ silicon tape. The silicon tape is amazing stuff and self fuses to make a 'custom' waterproof enclosure around the connector

Buried Cat5 to front of driveway

I would think it would be okay next to the pipe, my main concern is that these sprinkler systems do experience a lot of water hammer and over time the small vibrations could wear down the ethernet. You definitely need to use direct burial rated cable and I think you should consider using 5e or...

Forward call from door bell station to Ip Phone

This is a cool idea - 3 minutes seems like an incredibly long time. I personally would wait at no door for 3 minutes and your customer is likely going to get a lot of calls where the doorbell ringer has already left

Help me piece out a system

I started my journey by living in the wiki - I would suggest reading through the cliff notes - click every single link, read every single word. It's a lot, but by the time you come out of the wiki you'll come into the forum with a much much much better understanding of the questions you should...

    Best Multiport USB Charging Station?

Anker is solid - I am not sure if that will meet your charging needs (that does 45 from USBc and 20 from the USB-A's) https://www.anker.com/products/a2123?variant=37436925477014&ref=collectionBuy The 360 will charge all ports @60 watts simultaneously

    Best Multiport USB Charging Station?

What is your max wattage draw per port? If you're looking for 100W you're asking for a 1kW charging station which is unlikely to exist - Anker is my go to for chargers, have a look at their site

Best way to capture video at the corner of a building

Hi there - There's no real scientific answer to this - there are tons of variables that could change camera placement so each scenario could theoretically be the 'best' for each different application. If you had a rectangular building you could get full coverage with 2 cameras on each corner...
