Yes, this happened to me as well. Annke has released an updated firmware that's not quite as new, but I prefer to run that with the proper resolution and aspect ratio over the latest from HikVision with the issue you mentioned.

Neat! I just installed it on an I51DM but it still requires the plugin to view the live view in the browser after updating. Are others having that same experience? or should I try factory resetting the camera?

I would assume that's the E7S like the I51DM but if you can have a look at the Configuration > System > System Settings page there'll be a "Firmware Version Property" field that'll say for sure. I had the same problem but it's just a browser cache issue. Try opening the UI in incognito to verify.

From what I understand folks with the I51DF have been able to update it with just the normal web based upload procedure. I have an I51DM (not sure what the difference is) and its not working over the web, and TFTP reports "flag*23a04_1" which I think means that the firmware being uploaded...

I have not, and I have not convinced the Annke folks to come up with a newer firmware either. The need for a browser plug-in irritates me.
