So are you saying that I can FIRMWARE UPDATE to 3.3.4 / 3.4.0 by sticking a USB in the NVR and using the NVR software to update? Because that did not work.... Do I still need to change the LANGUAGE to 2 with the Firmware... Or do I leave it at the Original 1... This seemed to report "invalid...

Loaded the DVR with 3.3.1 software... Downloaded M/L 3.3.4 from the European HIK site.. Changed the language to 2 with the HIK tools (default fails to load).. Downloaded into DVR... DVR reboots and simply beeeeeeeeeps, then reboots.. Where did you source 3.3.2 F/W from? Same goes with 3.4.0 ...

3.3.4 Multilanguage caused the system to brick... Loaded 3.3.1 from HIK Europe to recover system 3.4.0 Multilanguage caused the system to ALSO brick... Again loaded 3.3.1 to recover it.. So unless I missed a thread about how to NOT brick the 7616N-E2 NVR's, then it seems the best bet is 3.3.1...

Update.. Thanks to zimurgy for posting the HIK TFTP server program.. Still would not connect with my windows 10 machine.. SO I dragged out an older windows 7 machine with firewall disabled and it connected.. Downloaded the 3.3.1 MultiLanguage from the HIK Europe site...

This... My exact same problem.. Trying to source an OLDER firmware to flash to it.. I've region changed one firmware, but it does not want to TFTP across to it.. 7616N-E2.. Any assistance from others that have been through it would be appreciated.. Paul.

I too am searching for this tool.. Successfully bricked an DS7616 NVR by trying to put the 3.3.2 firmware on it.... All my readings say that Download the TFTP server program from HIK - and yet I can't find one server that has it on.. CAn *any* tftp server be used? Any advice appreciated..
