As @kadkam says, disabling motion alarms in the Hik-connect / EZVIZ apps actually disables motion on the camera itself. Is this perhaps what caused your issue?

Based on that second image, you may want to turn WDR on too, under Configuration >> Image >> Backlight Settings when connecting via a web browser. It should solve your issues with the plant / the right of the scene in general.

The number of individual line rules you could create with your camera was reduced from 4 down to 1 in one of the v5.3.x firmware releases, or perhaps v5.4.0. The manual is a little out of date. Memory and performance optimisation was the reason given if I recall correctly.

Yes, I've updated a few DS-2CD2032-I mini-bullets to v5.4.0 without issue. Enabling TLS will fix email issues.

If it's the DS-2CD2342WD-I 4MP turret then yeah it's part of the R6 series. Unfortunately it seems that this is a known issue with this series which should supposedly be fixed in v5.5.0

Do you have an R6 series camera? There's an issue with these cameras and the OSD disappearing occasionally, particularly with timing / VCA triggered snapshots. From the v5.4.0 release notes: For R6 models, OSD may disappear occasionally. This problem will be solved in V5.5.0.

Yes, the v3.4.80 resolved the issue for the -I series NVRs too. Tested with a DS-7716NI-I4-16P and a DS-7732NI-I4-16P As alastair said though, definitely heed Hikvision's warning about updating the 7608NI-I2 to v3.4.80. No such warning for v.3.4.82 though.

If your DS-2CD2142FWD-I is just an -I model then unfortunately not I'm afraid. It doesn't have the relevant connections to connect the external microphone. If it's a DS-2CD2142FWD-IS however then it will do, and you can connect a microphone. The same rule applies for most of Hikvision's product...
