Like title says has anyone DL the firmware to fix the DS-7608-NI-I2 to get email working yet ? I just received the unit right when the SSL email issues with GMAIL was killed. So I have never had email working on this tard yet and would like to get this going now that summer over here. Almost feel I should have bought the E2 as it seems Hikvision updated that software I guess?

Well, as posted in existing threads, the K41 3.4.80 version appears to have fixed the gmail problem for both of my 7816N-E2/8P NVRs.
So it's likely that the equivalently labelled K51 3.4.80 and 3.4.82 version for the -Ix series will also work.

**However - for the 7608NI-I2 there is a warning not to upgrade due to issues with the assigned RAM value.**
A few posts on that topic. Hikvision quote:
"We don¡¯t recommend users to upgrade DS-7608NI-I2 and DS-7608NI-I2/8P to V3.4.80 due to RAM limit."

Yes, the v3.4.80 resolved the issue for the -I series NVRs too. Tested with a DS-7716NI-I4-16P and a DS-7732NI-I4-16P

As alastair said though, definitely heed Hikvision's warning about updating the 7608NI-I2 to v3.4.80. No such warning for v.3.4.82 though.

Can't believe everyone with I2s were poking me with a big stick all that time and said that the I2 was futureproof and not to get the E2 for 4MP cameras.

I've tested on 7616N-E2/8P and it works (big thanks to @alastairstevenson on that one). Have a 7608NI-E2/8P in the family but not tested yet as been a bit busy.

I recall them poking at you about the E2, you would think Hik would support thier newer products first. Could have saved the $100 or so by getting the E2. I will look into that v 3.4.82 any links ?

I'd speculate that it was a complete oversight that they'd used a different rule for partitioning the RAM between the DSP and the CPU, and only discovered the problems after userbase feedback.
So it's possible to get OOM (Out Of Memory) errors even when not doing anything very demanding.
There is quite a bit extra in the 3.4.80 firmware that pushes the RAM requirement a bit higher, and maybe their testing focussed on the main changes.

It may be, and it is speculation, that they have fine-tuned the memory allocation in the 3.4.82 version, though as @Kieran mentioned, it's not explicitly stated in the release notes, only by omission. @Jack B Nimble how about asking Hikvision tech support the question for your 7608NI-I2 and see if they give a helpful response that could be shared?

Good news that the I2, most people at the time were buying 7608NI-I2 was the issue as the 7608NI-E2 was deemed non-worthy!

OK, who's going to be first to test that firmware version?

I'm currently on v3.4.62. So is the upgrade path: First V3.4.80 build 160718, then V3.4.82 build 160818 after? Does V3.4.82 only exist to correct the problems that V3.4.80 created for the DS-7608NI-I2's or is it a stand-alone update?

Well, the fix for Gmail was released for both the E series and I series NVRs at the same time.

v3.4.82 essentially removes some of the more demanding functionality from the DS-7608NI-I2-8P only, which were introduced in the previous v3.4.80 release. As always, double-check the release notes and your NVRs region before updating.

Get to v3.4.2 first then v3.4.6. Both these were quite stable. Avoid v3.4.0 at all costs.

I'm basing this off E series which is different, but better to be cautious.

I misspoke, I'm currently v3.4.62 not v3.3.62. If I decide to go for it is the upgrade path: First V3.4.80 build 160718, then V3.4.82 build 160818 after? Does V3.4.82 only exist to correct the problems that V3.4.80 created for the DS-7608NI-I2's or is it a stand-alone update?

Straight to v3.4.82 should be ok. But if you have time then do v3.4.80 first, why not?

OK, I lied. Updated to v3.4.82 on my DS-7608NI-I2/8P remotely and everything seems to be OK. Can't find the smart events in the playback timeline but I'm sure I'm missing a setting or two somewhere. I'll play with that and Gmail when I get home.

So I updated and still see no fix for the gmail issue as far as TLS setting option instead of STMP what am I doing wrong as far as gmail set up these days ?

Follow up:

I figured it out , now I remember how nice it has been without emails. How low are you guys setting the sensitivity ? I am down to 20!
