Camera 1 just went offline again. Its getting a bit more frequent. That was the 2nd time today. I am probably going to bite the bullet and reset the NVR again and see if that fixes the issue.

Good to know I am not the only one with this error. Maybe as u say it's the nvr 4.0 systems. Hopefully a firmware update fixes it. At the moment I don't to buy a poe switch just for this. What are the other benefits of having a dedicated poe switch as opposed to using the poe integrated in the nvr?
