    7 cameras now cycling on/off

Guys, I have been monitoring wireshark and the re-connect issue has not gone away. Today I started to reset my main camera and only test this one. I captured some data and maybe you see something that is unusual. I noticed the black blocks earlier when I had a lot more cameras on there and had...

    7 cameras now cycling on/off

One more piece of info: I completed a new install of Windows 10, reinstalled BlueIris and still have this happening. I then installed Wireshark but this is a lot of stuff to take in. I monitored the NIC interface and see a lot of things happening. I would appreciate a few directions on what I...

    7 cameras now cycling on/off

Great advice guys. I start getting things under control on the network side. What I am baffled with is still the camera side. Status today: Cameras are on a separate network now, only BlueIris is on there with the original NIC. I also added a wireless NIC to the computer that is currently...

    7 cameras now cycling on/off

I figure I give you and update as I go. I realized this morning that the telephone cable that I had run to the workshop was actually a Cat5. So I repurposed the telephone line and now have no landline anymore in the shop. No loss as everyone uses cell phones anyway. With that line freed up I...

Thanks @samplenhold - much appreciated. I just realized that you are in Spring - greetings from Huffman, TX.

    7 cameras now cycling on/off

@samplenhold - thanks, that makes a lot of sense and is probably the most secure setup. But it requires me to run a second Cat5 line to the workshop because I still have this one camera at the house that I need to tie in. That is not going to happen. They said, use the biggest empty pipe you can...

    7 cameras now cycling on/off

@samplenhold - I am not sure if I understand. The router has the DHCP and I thought I need this to arrange the traffic. I also believe that I need this because of the following: House has the modem and the Router. From there I basically have two branches - one in the house and one that goes to...

    7 cameras now cycling on/off

Guys, I have a problem. It appears that 7 of 11 cameras went bad within a day. They are all different (brand, models) and have been purchased over various time periods. They are all Dahua and HikVision. The oldest is a cheap Dahua, 10 years old and as I got more and more into this I did spend...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

ziomek, this worked now! For some reason I always pressed the rest button when it was powered on or just a moment after. This time I followed your process and it worked - thanks. Everything went back to default.

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

I am seeking your help - my camera apparently is from newegg and therefore deemed not supported by HikVision USA. I had my camera running for a while and accessible in a browser and in Blue Iris. All worked fine. Suddenly I could not access this anymore, btw - i have no port forwarding. Some...

@[3:@fenderman] - I followed your recommendation and got a ProDesk 600 G2. You have been recommending this one a lot. All worked fine but a power surge took out my PSU. I was wondering if you ever had to replace a PSU for them and what you choose?

BI - 2 days left on evaluation

@fenderman I unchecked the "limit clip age" (it was set at 14 days) and the size limit was at 20GB. What should I set it to? Any recommendation or is just dependent on what I want to keep? 20GB stored one day so I try to set it 140GB and see what happens. Version is: 4.4.5.3 x64

BI - 2 days left on evaluation

Hi everyone! I am using a HP EliteDesk 800 G2 - Core i7-6700 with Windows 7 and I am quite happy so far. I am running the BI demo and with my 7 cameras I am at 24% CPU. I have a mix of Dahua's and Hik's at various MP's and decided to have 4 constantly recording at higher FPS and the other...

Elk M1 Gold plus ISY994i - now adding Blue Iris

This is another reason why I want a trigger function so that the last video before an alarm can go into a cloud. The old NVR will still record hidden somewhere in a garage. Recording on the NVR work still well with this little thing (nelly 8 channel) but the interaction for ipad and internet has...

Elk M1 Gold plus ISY994i - now adding Blue Iris

Great discussion and help here....ethernet.... how would this work? My driveway probe is wired to the ELK so I get already a security alert and sound played by the ELK. Because the ELK is connected over the ethernet interface (M1XEP) with the ISY I get automation action when the driveway probe...

Elk M1 Gold plus ISY994i - now adding Blue Iris

@tangent I spend a lot of time on cocoontech and love the support over there. My system is up an running now. The ELK and the ISY work very well together but I keep the duties segregated strictly. The ELK handles all security matters while the ISY handles the automation around that. The cameras...

Elk M1 Gold plus ISY994i - now adding Blue Iris

Hello, over the last years I have bee putting together my home security system (ELKM1 Gold) then added the Home Automation system (ISY 994i & Webinterface) and added IP cameras. My cheap NVR stared acting up and I wanted to upgrade to a better system for the recording. Now I just added a HP...

    BI in Virtual Box

Guys, I am about to purchase the HP EliteDesk 800 G2 - Intel Core i7 6700 (3.4 GHz) 8 GB, 2TB HD based on fenderman's recommendations. It comes with WIN 7 Pro and I believe this is an optimal set up. I am now wondering if I should place the Win into a VB and run the machine as a Linux server. I...

Dahua - time stamp challenge (gremlins at work)

Found it... In this NVR this feature is under the DIGITAL sub screen where you set up the cameras. I set each (!!!) camera to "Off" and now the time is served from the NTP server and the cameras don't change back. nayr - you are a savior! Thanks!

Dahua - time stamp challenge (gremlins at work)

I do this all the time.... but after 5 or 6 minutes it mysteriously un-checks itself and the time changes back. I focus the investigation now to the NVR as nayr suggested.

Dahua - time stamp challenge (gremlins at work)

I am using an 8 channel ION Nelly Security NVR. I assume you mean at the camera? There is no check box associated with a NVR setting. Snapshot was taken 18:27 not 07:27. As I said the camera always goes back to GMT +08:00 and automatically un-checks the NTP box. FYI - the 192.168.1.100 address...

Dahua - time stamp challenge (gremlins at work)

There are two cameras that hold the date and time correct and the others revert automatically to some other time zones. I use the sync NTP with time servers and I use my own NPT server to sync time. Even if I use sync PC the cameras bounce back to their own default timezone after a while. My...

    Moved HikVision DS-2CD2332-I - now can't access

OK - I checked. The cable is actually CCA. I am not happy because I checked the order and I did not order that. The run is approx. 80 ft. Next step - I will remove the camera again and connect it to the same port on the POE Link but with a shorter cable - will come back to you with results...

    Moved HikVision DS-2CD2332-I - now can't access

Alastair, I realize that I have been vague with my original post. Let me clarify. When I buy a camera I thoroughly test it in my home office (same network and same subnet). At that time I always assign static IP's to the cameras. I tested this camera for two weeks and all went fine. Yesterday...

    Moved HikVision DS-2CD2332-I - now can't access

Hello - I need some help please! I have a HikVision DS-2CD2332-I and tested in my office for some time. All worked fine! Today I moved it outside and I tested the cable prior to connecting it. All tested out good. Now I see the camera with its old IP address and a scan (with FING) shows that...

    Big mistake....? Polaroid IP810W

Hello, I think I made a big mistake and purchased the Polaroid IP810W dome camera. Picture is fine, PTZ works and I should be happy but.... it only works with their INSTAVIEW software. I figured that I can log into the web server using the undocumented port 81 but that's it. I have no clue how...
