Color 4K-T -- Day / Night... im missing something

I use AAC on all my cameras with noise filter "off." Volume at "95" Since I transfer the videos to Final Cut Pro on my Macintosh, AAC seems to work best.

Color 4K-T -- Day / Night... im missing something

That's interesting because I have mine set for 12 hours (although I am customizing it for sunrise/sunset each month), and it seems to be working fine.

    Best Dash Camera 2024

Here are some pictures from this morning. I put a CPL on my camera lens to eliminate any glare. Even with that, the dash cam is pretty much invisible from outside the vehicle. I also took pictures from the inside looking out, so you can see their position.

    Best Dash Camera 2024

It's dark here now, but I can take some pics for you in the morning. Here are a few phone camera shots after I installed the dash cam. I don't think anyone would notice either the front or rear cameras. I drew arrows pointing to their locations.

    Best Dash Camera 2024

I just saw your post and decided to jump in the truck and make you a video of some Viofo A229 Pro footage at night. (I also added a little daytime footage from this morning at the end, so you can see how night and day videos compare.) Note that both the front and rear cameras have polarizing...

    Animal detection with IPC-B54IR-Z4E-S3

Ever since I turned on "animal detection," this camera has been entertaining. Never know what I'll see until I check the NVR the next morning, and the IPC-B54IR-Z4E-S3 is the best camera for low light. Wondering if others have videos of critters they have captured.

    $20 for Dahua-compatible keyboard w/trackpad

Searched a long time for a keyboard that I could use remotely with my Dahua NVR, since the NVR is hidden away in a closet, and the TV's in the house are connected via IP. This one works perfectly with the Dahua NVR. Just ordered a spare today, as this one is now $20 on Amazon. Great price if you...

IPC-Color4K-X-6MM alternative with longer focal length?

Here is a quick video demo of the 4K-X 6mm, B54IR-Z4E-S3, and SD49225 PTZ from a couple nights ago. They were all focused on the same driveway. You can see how important color is with the 4K-X and how the Z4E works in complete darkness with the IR. .

IPC-Color4K-X-6MM alternative with longer focal length?

Exactly right. I have both a 4K-X 6mm and B54IR-Z4E-S3 focused on different parts of my driveway. The 4K-X is amazing, even with its built-in warm light at night; and the Z4E is fantastic with its IR. If those aren't long enough, the B52IR-Z12E-S2 would be the one to get. Just make sure you stay...

    Best Dash Camera 2024

Video storage takes a lot of space for sure, but that is why I have a 32TB HD on my Macintosh. If an incident happens, I just want to be able to review those last 2 minutes and have the video to edit. I found that a worthwhile investment, if you have a 229 Pro, is a Viofo BTR200 remote button...

    Best Dash Camera 2024

You can access the loop setting on the dash cam, although making the settings on the app is a bit easier (attached). I found that a setting of 2 minutes is the sweet spot. A setting of 1 minute creates way too many files, but 2 minutes is a nice compromise and allows easy editing of the videos...

best/funniest audible alert for cams that have that capability

I absolutely love the new IPC-Color4M-T cameras. Though the speaker is better in the N55DU82 and 4K-X cameras I have, the added features of the Color 4M-T make it a better choice for general use. In my back yard along a rear fence, I have gunshot sounds that activate if someone crosses an...

    Color 4k-x 6mm -- Half view out of focus/Blurry

There is certainly something wrong with that camera. I have all three focal lengths of 4K-X (2.8, 3.6, and 6mm) and the 6mm is my favorite. Sharpest camera of all the cameras that I have installed at my home: 5442T-ZE, T5449H-ASE-D2, N55DU82, B54IR-S3, Color4M-T, HFW5241E-Z12E, 54IR-AS S3...

    Help with ivs

Long-time Mac user here. Plugging a mouse into your MacBook Pro (for right-click) is the easiest--and least frustrating--way to draw intrusion boxes in IVS. I've never gotten Firefox to work reliably, but Google Chrome seems to offer the most with the Mac and newer camera interface. Safari works...

IR LEDs not working on Dahua camera

Still deciding on which camera to go with

Take a look at this video where I compared the 2.8mm, 3.6mm, and 6mm 4K-X cameras. The telephone pole in the center of the screen is exactly 50' from the 4K-X. The middle of the street is 32', and when the guy crosses in front of the camera at 2:51, he is 13' from the 6mm camera. Be sure to...

Still deciding on which camera to go with

I have 2.8mm, 3.6mm, and 6mm versions of the 4K-X, and 2.8mm of the 4K-T. I prefer the image on the 4K-X compared to the 4K-T. Also, the 4K-T uses the older interface, whereas the 4K-T uses the newer one. For me, the older interface is just a lot better. I haven’t had any close-focusing problems...

    Bullet vs. wall-mounted turret

Two additional points: the bullet often has much better IR than the turret, and the bullet is often more precise when adjusting. Since your cameras are facing south/east, you will only have a slight problem with the sun in the morning. As an example, this is my bullet about 6' above the ground...

Need Your Help to Decide between T54IR-ZE and Color4K-T and How to Install It

I found all of the free sounds using a Google search. Once I download them, I use DSP-Quattro on my Mac to convert them to mono mp3's (44.1 kHz sample rate) and then make sure their size is no larger than about 120kb before uploading to the cameras. Halloween is the most fun season because I...

5442 S3 series cams and SMD

Nope, leave some space around the edges. It takes a moment for the object to be detected. Movement toward a boundary and then crossing that line (edge of the box) seems to work best. "Appears" is ok, but I have had better luck with "Cross."

Few simple Q's about Dahua install junction box

Yes, that is correct (top and side). The lock/unlock screw should be oriented downward. You can test how resistant it is to water intrusion by inserting an ethernet cable into the rubber grommet and then into the mount. On all my boxes it has provided a water-tight seal without having to use...

Few simple Q's about Dahua install junction box

    1. I have mine oriented as in the attached photo. I assume the openings are there to run another cable in or out for another camera or accessory like an IR light. 2. Yes, the rubber piece gets inserted from the back to make a water-tight seal. The rubber seal works well at keeping out moisture...

Comparing H.265 to H.264H compression (a quick test)

I wondered what the best encoding setting would be for a Color 4K-T180, so this afternoon I took some screenshots of a zoomed in target (street speed sign)at various compression/bit rates. H.264H @ 14336 bit rate seemed to be the best choice for this camera. H.265 had noticeable artifacts.

Just a suggestion, but I think you would have more success if you were to extend your trip lines and intrusion box. As shown, the "stick figure" wouldn't be picked up on the perimeter.

Mini-Review of the PTZ4M-25X-PV and compared to other PTZs

Just in case anyone is replacing an older 49225 with this newer model, today I replaced a SD49225XA-HNR with a PTZ4M-25X-PV. Here is a picture of the two next to each other. Didn't have to change the mount, as they both use the PFB305-W mount. Swapping them out took about a minute.

Need Your Help to Decide between T54IR-ZE and Color4K-T and How to Install It

I believe you would have to run an external speaker with that camera. One reason I have kept my N55DU82's all these years is that they have excellent built-in speakers. Here is my postman, when he hears the camera's crow sound file.

Need Your Help to Decide between T54IR-ZE and Color4K-T and How to Install It

Very true about the audio. I alternate my sounds between crows and growling dogs on the 4K-X and N55DU82's. Doesn't bother the neighbors, but makes the intruders more than concerned. Once in a while I will add a gunshot sound in the mix.
