Is the DS-7616NI-K2 capable of recording 8x 4MP cams?

Crimped new RJ45 ends on the cables for both cameras and observed them for a while. Made a bit of a difference, live view is generally more stable now, but if I watch a recording, it'll skip 3-5 seconds of footage every minute or so. I could see the timestamp moving at 15:10:34, then it froze...

Is the DS-7616NI-K2 capable of recording 8x 4MP cams?

Would H.265 reduce the load on the NVR seeing as how I'd be able to lower the bitrate for all cameras from 8192 down to either 4096 or 6144 and keep the same resolution and frame rate?

Is the DS-7616NI-K2 capable of recording 8x 4MP cams?

Yes. All cameras including the two new ones are at full 4MP resolution, 15 FPS and 8192 bitrate. I bought a 1000ft roll of HIKVISION branded Cat6 from the distributor and have used that for all eight cameras at home. I remember testing the cameras when I bought them with some 3ft Cat6 patch...

Is the DS-7616NI-K2 capable of recording 8x 4MP cams?

Moved our DS-7608NI-K1 to a different location and installed a DS-7616NI-K2/16P (FW version: 4.74.205_230712) at my parents house for their HikVision PoE cameras. Used to have 6x 4MP cameras, recently added two more to cover some blind spots. Everything is being recorded to a 6TB WD Purple HDD...

How to get Live View across multiple monitors / devices with DS-7608NI-K1/8P

000 doesn't work at all and 001 is what I was using to get the Zero-Channel stream and that was in 704x576 with an aspect ratio of 4:3 so it had black bars on the sides. So far my impressions of this NVR aren't great. The UI is terrible and clunky and the fact that I need a plug-in to view...

How to get Live View across multiple monitors / devices with DS-7608NI-K1/8P

Thanks for this. I got Channel-Zero enabled in NVR settings, however the RTSP stream is 704x576 instead of 1920x1080. The NVR settings do not offer an option to change the resolution, only the frame rate and the bitrate (which tops out at 2 Mbps). It's perfect otherwise since it shows the same...

How to get Live View across multiple monitors / devices with DS-7608NI-K1/8P

Small update: Viewing the RTSP stream through a powerful Windows machine also results in occasional dropped frames and a significant 3-4 second delay compared to Live View from the NVR directly. Is this normal behaviour? The issue happens with both H.264 and H.265 codecs.

How to get Live View across multiple monitors / devices with DS-7608NI-K1/8P

Thanks for this. Seems like it's worth exploring. I started experimenting with RTSP on a Raspberry Pi, but then I tried TinyCam like you suggested. Installed it on a Chromecast with Google TV, and Live View works, albeit not particularly well. Although I don't think this is the fault of the...

How to get Live View across multiple monitors / devices with DS-7608NI-K1/8P

Definitely an interesting solution, but far out of budget. The cost of the modulator alone is more than what was paid for the NVR + 6x IP cams.

How to get Live View across multiple monitors / devices with DS-7608NI-K1/8P

TinyCam could work. I have an extra Chromecast with Google TV lying around that I can plug in to one of the monitors. What sort of set up would be required on the NVR for me to be able to view the cameras (live view) through TinyCam? I believe the NVR has the cameras on a different subnet...

How to get Live View across multiple monitors / devices with DS-7608NI-K1/8P

This was the first thing that came to mind since I essentially just want to duplicate the HDMI output from the NVR to the existing monitor on all the other monitors where live view is required. However, running Cat6 to all the desired locations, buying an HDMI splitter and at least 3 HDMI-Cat6...

How to get Live View across multiple monitors / devices with DS-7608NI-K1/8P

Hi, My parents recently had some HikVision IP/PoE cameras installed at their house, all cameras are connected through a DS-7608NI-K1/8P NVR. The NVR itself is in the study / home office with HDMI running to a 27" monitor showing Live View for the 6 installed cameras. However, they'd like to...
