Is there a such thing as a camera system that is not complete trash? Suggestions?

FWIW I have some hikvision colorvu cameras that have the built in led lights. I have found that leaving the leds on is best with low light situations Vs using IR and they are not too bright that it disturbs any of the neighbors. It’s equivalent to your phones LED light. Or just kinda looks like...

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

Oh I hear ya! It is exciting. But kind of a catch 22. They can only do this cause rates are high on everything else also. In the end they still are collecting more than we are lol

Which Camera is better - Lorex or Hikvison

Yes 100%. With zero light you actually CAN get a so so image but you won’t be able to make anything out once motion occurs. Only option is to use white light in this case. Which I found isn’t too big of a distraction. Mainly looks like someone’s cell phone light lol

Which Camera is better - Lorex or Hikvison

I guess my expectations were different. I was amazed at how good of video I get with little ambient lighting. Lol Works well with white light also but I prefer adding external light. You can’t see near as far in FOV with the use of the white light vs ambient light.

Which Camera is better - Lorex or Hikvison

I have hikvision colorvu cameras and love them. I have enough lighting from a porch light and one scone light to give a great image at night without the use of the white light.

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

I bank at SoFi which pays 2.5 on checking and 3.25 on savings with zero hoops to jump through. Too bad my savings has been drained this last year though. Lol

    Need router advice for OpenVPN

I am also about to upgrade to the RT6600 I think. Not sure if I will need a mesh. I currently have a mesh extender to give range to my back patio. How large of an area were you covering that required you to add the MR2200ac? I’m not able yo place my router in the middle of my house. What is the...

    Hikvision RCE Vulnerability

I also use Hik-Connect just fine. I was constantly getting illegal log in attempts on my NVR and alerts from Xfinity about ip attempts on all previous cameras and then the new NVR. As soon as I turned off UPnp on the NVR and my router (as suggested by this board) I haven’t received one alert...

    Identify discarded camera

They lost me when the chat sales team would not tell me who or at least where they were manufactured and when they could not even answer the bandwidth capability of one of their NVRs. Extremely happy with hikvision thus far.

I ALMOST purchased that brand. Lol Sounds like a good thing I did not.

    Acusense and basic motion detection

Under your record schedule is it set to event or motion? If event, switch it to motion. If it still doesn’t work you must have same issue as OP.

    Acusense and basic motion detection

I did check and am running a newer firmware version than you are. Maybe that was fixed!

    Acusense and basic motion detection

Yea makes sense. Was just trying to think of anything else to play around with. Glad to have an NVR to do all this for me regardless lol

    Acusense and basic motion detection

Wow yea that is very weird. I’ll check what firmware version I’m on when I get home. Hopefully they can fix it for you. It should work since it’s an acusense camera even without an NVR. Why don’t you try taking record off of any schedule. And then in motion detection just keep the alarm...

Does HIKVISION ColorVu Lite DS-2CD1027G0-LUF(C)(4.0) have wifi capabilities

Do you have an NVR? Or were you just using Hik-connect?

Does HIKVISION ColorVu Lite DS-2CD1027G0-LUF(C)(4.0) have wifi capabilities

No that one is POE. I would drop a line and have it hardwired. Way more dependable than Wi-Fi. Especially for a security camera.

    ONVIF help

This looks awesome. Unfortunately for me to keep unlimited data I will have to keep the Xfinity modem I believe. does the vpn this offers the same sort of VPN that this board always recommends for the cameras?

    ONVIF help

You are correct. I used to use my own router with Xfinity. I will admit, them having an app to see all my online devices, pause or delete them, shut off Wi-Fi at certain times to devices, etc is extremely nice. I would assume I would lose all of that if I were to put my Xfinity router in bridge...

    ONVIF help

yea looks like I’m limited due to my router and the panel. Was hoping that since I was able to get some sort of stream that perhaps there was just another setting in the NVR that needs attention that I just don’t know about. I can’t imagine I’m the first to want to do this lol. There just isn’t...

    ONVIF help

Edit it how? unfortunately on the panel, only option is to insert user name and password of the ip camera. No other settings or protocols would downloading the ONVIF device manager assist in anything? (If you know about it)

    ONVIF help

Yea I googled and they don’t offer it. I’m just confused on why the panel did see the first channel on the NVR?

    ONVIF help

I know the device would be on my actual LAN instead of the NVRs but I think so long as I keep UPnP disabled it would be ok. A lot more work than I was hoping for! Lol thanks for your help!

    ONVIF help

Wonder if I could do that to get a local ip address on the camera and then add it back to the NVR manually entering in the LAN ip address instead of plug and play?
  29. V

    ONVIF help

So seems like the only way to get the cameras on my actual LAN would be to plug it in directly to my router instead of the POE switch? Is the panel not finding it because they are on the NVRs own network and not mine? This really stinks as I was looking forward to this feature on the panel.
